Rear Suspension air keeping dropping
My rear suspension keeps dropping randomly sometimes it would stay up for 3 weeks. Some days it drops. Early in the morning it rises back up.

Comman problem, the rear air bags need to be replaced. Dont drive the car like that, otherwise you can damage the rear shocks.

Check fuse (maybe loose connection) / check airbags, valves and air lines for leakage (spray soap water)/ since problems are random check air dryer at compressor, incase desiccant silica beads are moist could be faulty rubber seal at solenoid valve which controls venting.
But don't drive too long with that problem, you can damage the air compressor and that will be costly Last edited by chumbedi; 05-02-2020 at 11:59 AM.. |

Get halfway up on ramps. Remove the pump fuse Take the paneling off the bottom of the truck, under the passengers side. loosen the valves at the block bleed the bags, you'll see a blue and red tube connected to the block with gold fittings. Get your jack on the diff pumpkin (i use a piece of wide flat wood to stop metal on metal damage) and lift the truck off the ramps, then install your stands on the jack point in front of the rear wheels. Drop the car onto the stands. I usually rest the jack under the diff just in case. Once bled, spin the bags out and remove the air supply tube 10mm wrench. You can transfer the dust cap over from the old bags at this point. Insert the air lines into the new fittings, no need to use the old fittings and reinstall the bags on the top side by spinning them into place. Pull the bag down as far as you can and then lift the hub to meet the underside of the air shock to the suspension arm, you can use a spare jack or just life by hand. once clipped in, bolt everything up, jack the car up, install the wheel and lower the truck onto the ramps. Tighten the fittings on the block, install the fuse, turn on the car and check for leaks on the valve block. Once confirmed good, button up the under paneling and then drive off the ramps. You're done. |

Did it end up working?
Did the new air bags work out?
I think I have a similar issue - fuses are all good (also no warning in the dashboard / boardcomputer). Very rarely the rear sags down and when I drive the car gets bouncy in the back (without driving over any bumps). Usually, when I just turn off the car, lock it, and then turn it back on it adjusts itself. Does that sound like the air bags need to be replaced? Hitting 60k miles soon |

Just change the bags and be done with it. 99% of the time is cracked/Leaky airbags and to the ones that say "no I don't see any crack in mine".... trust me take em out and you'll see. Replace with the Arnott bags and you're done. Takes $350 and less than an hour to diy rather than trying to diagnose other things that may be the other 1%
