Dirt Gets Inside of Doors

Ok, tell me what wrong with this picture?
Why would a $70K BMW allow dirt and debris to collect inside your doors, only to have your pants or dress drag over it.
Makes zero sense to me.

Trust me wayyyyyyyy worse in my white X5 after a rainy day drive.

I do not want to allocate to installing mud flaps but there should be a fix

It seems, with or without the running boards, all have the similar issues.

I would go out on a limb and say most cars with the side skirt panels tucked under the doors would exhibit the same amount of dirt buildup. Kind of seems inevitable.

You can see how dirty it get in the first five pictures in my mudflap thread. It is a lot better with the flaps, but still not as good as it should be. http://f15.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho...7#post16970247

Also, a lot of dirt comes from the "Air Breathers" (fender vents), which the flaps won't cover as they have a purpose in keeping the car aerodynamic, as explained here by BMW: http://www.bmw.com/com/en/insights/t...mics_2013.html

I have CLK AMG package and it does not do this. The door and skirt panels are very similarly designed.

It is a complaint I have as well. For >>$70K I kinda expected more, but call me picky... <ahem>

The dirt/dust buildup in that section of the car happens in all cars, $10k cars and $100k cars, too. Manufacturers have seals that seal the door to the inner door sill, but not the skirt portion which is why the buildup occurs. Especially noticeable after a wash or rainy driving.
