That's a very nice looking wheel.

Anyone running or has seen 375's powder coated with a dark back/interior rim? Looking to get an idea how it would look, considering it's such an intricate wheel with a bit going on, can't seem to find any pics anywhere.

Are your wheels staggered? What size tires are you running. I just put new Continentals and started getting the dreaded transfer case shimmy. Had it serviced and out the winters in and it seems fine for now. I need to sell these and get BMW approved tires to make sure it doesn't come back. Have you had any issues? TIA

What's everyones take or experience with tire availability for 21's? Thats been the biggest reason why I have been hesitant on picking up a set of 612m. I try to stay over UTQG300 because of the highway miles I put on for work, but all I ever see are tires like the Mich PSS and similar which are relatively short life tires.

Can't beat the Michelin Pilot Super Sports. Amazing tire! Wouldn't think twice about buying set after set.

They are a great tire for a non-daily, but my experience with them is you get about 20k miles on them. With the X5 depending on when I need to swap winters each year, I would get just shy of 2 summers on a set of PSS.

I use them on my daily and am on my second set of MPSS tires. It's a small price to pay for having high performance tires on nice OEM 21" wheels.

Yep, 20K is pretty standard on these vehicles if running 20 or 21" setups - these X5's eat through tires.

It's not just a Michelin thing either, on my E70 I ran the Bridgestone Dueller 20" OEM tires and by 20K miles they were pretty toast, and I was OCD about alignments and keeping it in OEM spec. On my F15 I run the 21" MPSS during the summer only - awesome tires, but yah they won't last more than a few seasons. If you're worried about replacing after 20K miles, maybe go with a 19" setup?

I took the liberty of seeing how long I've had my MPSS and how much thread (measured in the middle of the tire) I have left:

23K miles on the tires
Front: 6/32nds
Rear: 5/32nds

Plenty left!

I ordered a set of Michelin PSS in mid-July and they are still not in. My 612m wheels are bought and paid for...just waiting and waiting and waiting on the tires.

From where?

Discount Tire was showing 'Product is on backorder' just a few weeks ago for the MPSS. I noticed today it says 'Available now, arrives in 1-5 business days.'
