X5 40E plug in "station" for the outdoors

I just purchased a new 2016 X5 40E
Does anyone who owns a X5 40E have any ideas for a plug in "station" at your house? I don't have a garage and I would hate to leave the plug out in the open when not in use or have to unplug from house every time I'm done charging. Any pictures or ideas would be appreciated.

Check with your power company. Mine has rebate to cover the cost. Depending on rebate, you may need to buy particular model. There are ones rated for indoors, which can be simply plugged in adequate outlet and those hardwired for outdoors.

I had a buddy just set up a pole outside and mount the charger on it out. He put a little awning on top of it, but that's the extend of covering it. It's been through inclement weather including snow and winter with no problems.

Great idea. Maybe I'll put a weatherproof lock box on the pole and charger w/plug inside of it. Thanks

The charger that BMW sells is weather resistant if I'm not mistaken as that what my buddy has. Just be sure the weatherproof lock box isn't metal (so you don't shock yourself).
