I wouldn't reach the conclusion the X5M is the superior vehicle based on one YouTube video from Russia. The ZR1 weighs around 3,300lbs, over 600hp, it's not magic.

X5M is a SUV. Its not s match for a car like ZR1. But i would personally pick it over a freaking chevy any day. Im loyal to Bavaria

Yes, the ZR1 should have won but it didnt. Its as simple as that.
Almost half the weight, better aero and had drag tires and still couldnt catch a massive brick on wheels and both were tuned.
At the end of the day, just enjoy the video.

The video was fun. This thread got lots of hits so I think many people enjoyed it. I think everyone understands that the ZR1 offers spectacular performance and that the guy got a bad launch. No big deal. I'm not sure why this set you off so much.

X5M Impressive. I love X5s...with V8s. The X5M is freaking awesome but let's be realists...

Would it ever beat a C6 ZR1 with a competent driver that grew up driving manual transmission V8s in the US....Never. If anyone posting on this thread has ever owned or driven a ZR1 chime in, but I doubt there are many. I have done both...owned, embarassed people, launched, and cruised it. The ZR1 hits 80MPH in 1st gear, then you shift to 2nd, mash it again, hold on, and laugh as the supercharger spools and pipes breath fire and brimstone on whoever or whatever is behind it. It is a visceral experience. Read up; nothing stock at a $100K will ever touch the C6 ZR1. The C7 Z06 is even more insane and the successor in the same price range. Just level setting everyone.

That Vette got smoked..plain and simple. Sure he lit the tires up at the start through 1st and into 2nd..but he snoozed at the tree. The vid says unlimited 500+.....the X5 just killed it all around...and the Vette didn't have the power to come back around him and yes, the X5M wasn't stock either. Win-BMW.

Just a thought... Yes we all know the vette zr1 is quicker stock to stock and against a modded x5m. BUT... I'm sure 6-7 out of 10 times us regular joes are not getting a perfect launch on the zr1 whereas the x5m can prob get a perfect launch 9 or even 10 out of 10 times. So that being said, in the real world it's realistic to say that the x5m will prob beat the comparable zr1 from a stop more than not. So even though the vette is quicker in specs would it matter if it loses at the strip or on the street (which i don't condone BTW )
