External Music Players Compatibility Issue
Does anyone has used the External Music Players on the 2015 X5m or X6m?
Apple iPod Classic is for sure working fine with BMW. But when I try to connect the Astell & Kern AK120, the system just not recognized the external drive device. I just wondering does anyone have the same issue? |

It's likely because the A&K player doesn't support mass storage mode or MTP mode when connected to the car.
Their web site says it does support MTP and the BMW USB interface also supports MTP, but it might not be bi-directional. With an external DAC like the AK120, you'd probably be better served using the AUX input anyways. Playback via USB will defeat the purpose of the DAC.
