Laser jammer

Has anyone installed a lasar jammer (k40, laser interceptor, etc). Do they interfere with the forward collision prevention systems, etc?

Hi I have AL Priority installed on my X6 with 5 sensors, 3 in the front 2 in the rear. The system is already installed and working but I haven't driven the car because it's still in the shop. I should have it by next week. I don't believe it will interfere with anything. I have the x35i so I also have adaptive cruise control. Will let you know after I test it.

I see that you're in Illinois. I'm in Chicago and the shop that did the work is Showtime Audio on North Ave.

Got my car today and everything works fine. Adaptive cruise control, assistant parking all work with no issues.

I think right now only ALP and Stinger VIP can defend against the newer DragonEye laser guns, so if you're looking to buy those 2 are the best.

Would you mind posting pictures of how everything looks mounted with your setup. Thanks.

Lol, my car's not quite done yet. Once it's done I'll have a show-off thread in the F15/F16 forum.

Those of you who can't see the pictures, how are you viewing the site?

Chrome on Windows/OS X both work, Chrome on Android and Bimmerpost app on Android all work fine for me.

Hey, can you try OSX with Safari? That works for me. So if it doesn't work for you then it's not the browser... maybe the picture host is blocking it from being viewed based on location or something else.

Okay, here it is again with a different picture host. But now the pictures are a little too big as it's only letting me share the original image size. If anyone knows of a good free picture hosting site that works well with these forums let me know.

I can now see photos.

Thanks.

Should the 2 outer front sensors be placed in the grill slats closest to the head lights?

I have my laser interceptors mounted in grill slats.

Have you had a opportunity to test if this will Jam to Gun??

With a laser tester it does work fine. The set was purchased from Radar Roy and he includes a free laser tester with the order.

But have not tested with a real gun.

Let me know if you defeat Rahm's cameras. That's the test...

I actually don't expect the Laser Jammer to be too useful to me. I just installed it as a fun project as I love to experiment with gadgets. In the 8 years I've lived in Chicago I have not gotten a single ticket and I have not experienced any laser hits.

Radar detector is absolutely necessary though. Ever since I first started using radar detectors about 10 years ago, I have not gotten a single ticket while using a radar detector. The 2 speeding tickets I got over that period happened once while I was driving my father's car without a radar detector in LA, and once while driving in Australia without a detector and getting photographed by camera.
