Autobild are running a new story on the progression of the BMW X family.
From X1 to X7. Here is a look at the X6.

Ummm, well, you know, BMW is in the business of making money. How about that money grabbing scheme of changing their cars every year so that we always want a new one? Darn those guys!

My biggest disappointment probably will be the lack of Multifunction Instrument Display. Interior will be 99% taken from current X5, which missing this option as we speak. Seriously, new X5 received old, dull looking instrument panel with exception of new display. It should get at least optional MID like in series 5 or 7.
It is something like $100K car or is it? And thats why I am buying now used one. |

This must be it right? Plus a 1 series hatchback?
I just captured some photos and videos today in Sweden.

Me & my wife personally love the X6...and we were planning to buy one back in 2011...having to test drive it and as soon as sitting in the back seat, the X6 was out of my option list... we ended up buying the X3 (the new Gen had just been released back then)... Neither X6 nor X4 are a family car IMO...as much as they are roomy in the front seats, they are crampy in the rear seats,...our X3 had more room at the back than the X6...so they will remain a sporty car for most couples...not saying no family buys them...just that if you are considering space for your kids, then X5 and X3 are still the way to go... I always enjoy seeing a X6 in the street though...i think it is exceptionally unique and sexy... Last edited by Shaw; 01-17-2014 at 07:17 AM.. |

X6 has always been a polarizing vehicle, but I was in love with the year round capability and looks from day one....
Hell, I owned the 35i and 50i...Miss the roar of my V8 for sure

Still love the look of it but do wonder more these days what the point is. Still I'd get one to go with the X5 if I could though ! As usual with me another dig at the new x5 - this new x6 looks good from what I can see - thankfully they don't seem to have done their best to ruin its good points. |

For me it's never been an issue and my 3yo daughter loves climbing into the DadMobile (tm). I do agree it can be a pain for many people. The sacrifices we make to drive a cooler car, you know?! I can relate because I thought along similar lines and ended up getting an X6M instead of one of the 6-Series Convertible variants so I can more easily shlep the kids around and go to the beach and stuff. My choice was between "completely utterly impractical yet totally freaking awesome" and "just slightly impractical but still really freaking awesome", hehe. |

the X4 thus far looked nice from photo...can't wait to see in real person. X3 is aggressive in the front but the rear is still so fem.

Had E71 for 3 years, have F15 now. All them haters of E71 even if they do not like the looks of it should drive it first before commenting and saying it is basically an x5 with slanted roof.

the difference you have is that you guys wanted to go for two SUV's (or larger vehicles)...whereas in our scenario I definitely wanted one sedan for more "in-bound" trips if you will with lower fuel consumption and one SUV (or SAV as BMW calls it)... yes probably if our options were two go with 2 larger vehicles, one would have definitely been the X6 and I can tell you, in that scenario, my wife would have been more persuasive... Again, if I could have afforded two cars in the same price range like yours, and one had to be more like a "kids-friendly" type of SUV just like our X5, I still would have opt-ed for a 6 series Grand Coupe or something like that..., I still need a sedan as much as I like having a high wheeler... |
