New to X5M, help please.
I bought a '15 F85 close to a month ago, I'm daily driving it. Dropped the wife off at work this morning get back home park it in the garage. Go back to it bout 20 mins later and all kinds of codes and won't start. I have a MHD wifi obd adapter and use it for monitoring and codes. I've got an optima/agm charger on it, putting in 12.1V and about 12 amps, but the battery voltage doesn't seem to be going up. I haven't found any blown fuses yet, but not sure I'm looking in all of the right spots.
Anyone have any leads to help me out? When the battery is dead, or close to it, all sorts of things like this happen… I'd start with the battery. Do you have the soft close doors? Are they working? When the battery is losing charge it will start to prioritize things, one of the first to go is the soft close doors…
1B5101 - Terminal 15_3, line from CAS, electrical: Short circuit to B+. Ive also seen folks had to change out the cables to the battery, possibly need that based on the code. |

You mentioned having downpipes etc, I just did this this weekend and found with some things after it was all done… the grounds from the DME weren't connected, and contact with the DME was not working. Can you check to make sure one of those grounds aren't damaged or something there? They are on a bolt at the base of the plastic wire holder that crosses over your turbos. Would be on the left side of it, at the rear bolt location…

Have you verified the batteries are fully charged and no loose or deteriorated connections? From my experience, all these symptoms are typical of low battery charge.

I've worked on my own GM trucks for years, and know them pretty well, but wanted something different with performance. I'm capable to work on it, just don't know anything bout them really. The price tag doesn't help with getting into a new platform.

I have confirmed that the obd works, and mhd says it is flashing the dme back to stock successively.
Radio/ idrive, hvac, headlights, front protection systems are all still throwing inop status. Car won't start either. I ordered ista and an enet cable(should have tomorrow). Bimmercode won't connect currently. |

You mentioned that the charge was not taking. Where you charging via the engine compartment points, and how where you measuring that it was not charging?
If via engine, have you tried to replace the IBS cable? *EDIT*, BTW, you should be able to connect ista with the MHD adapter. That thing is just a wifi hotpsot. You may need to change a few of the settings. Last edited by Chilled; 04-26-2022 at 09:58 PM.. |
