Did you note the rear driver side tow bar cover missing/open? Perhaps examine the tool to see if it has been used/scratched. Enjoy the power.

Must be only specific dealers or areas. We ordered 5 weeks ago (in San Francisco) and still not even a production week yet. So jealous to see all these posts of people getting such fast builds!

Thanks - yes, I asked about that - apparently they remove it for shipping as they use it to secure the vehicle in transit. The cover to the drivers door lock is also removed - it's inside the car; apparently that is also removed during transit so it doesn't get damaged or lost.

I've waited nearly four months for delivery but the last couple of days seem the longest!

Might be for those of you lucky enough to be in NA. I ordered my 3D M Sport mid January, was told production end march delivery to UK dealer 18April.
Just been told production has been pushed back by 3 weeks.

Standard M50d 19" wheels (2PV 19" M Double-spoke style 467M alloy wheels).

My current E61 535d has low profile wheels and it's been the biggest regret of my purchase of that car, with the poor state of the roads here in the UK (potholes galore) they made the ride hard and I've had to replace two wheels due to hitting potholes - so I wanted as much rubber as I could get between the rims and the road :-)

I think the only reason I haven't had to replace more wheels on my 535d is that after the second pot hole incident I purchased 4 x 17" rims with winter tyres which I use in the winter - had to be cheaper than keep buying new 19" wheels!

Can someone confirm the format of a typical production number? My dealer has provided me with a 7 digit number though I'm not sure if it is correct.

My fast, order to production, turn around was due to my NM dealer's having an allocation that they had spec't for themselves, without pre-sale, which we, at the last minute, were able to change to my specs. Hopefully, I look forward to driving the vehicle next Friday, 3-21-2014, 18 days after order placement.

I've been calling the 800 number and have gotten the same message for the past 8 days or so: "production complete, waiting on carrier."

I'm assuming that means that it's finished and waiting in South Carolina for a batch of vehicles going the same direction in order to load on the truck and ship. The wait seems a bit long, I wouldn't have thought it would be in this status for over a week now.

Any thoughts or experience with this?

Bad news - at least now you should get the latest spec changes! (Driver assist etc) that might be the reason for the delay I guess.

True. But I am not at all fussed about the additional spec. What you haven't had or ordered you can't miss. I would rather have my car in the timeframe I ordered.

This kind of schedule is just cruel to us Europeans.

Ordered mid Jan
No dates give except delivery end May early June

Not bad when you're paying $85,000 for a car!!
