Not to beat a dead horse, but after the spacer fix and the bearing replacement, noise is back. Not sure what to do at this time. Take it for 3rd time for them to do what? I'm getting very frustrated with this car (even though I love how it drives). Eh.
Hate to drop the "L" word around here. |

Maybe wait to see if any 2017 owners report this issue or see if the dealer can pull up the part numbers to see if Bmw finally addressed it with revised parts.
I have brake squealing (no clicking yet) and it doesn't bother me enough to want to get rid of the car. |

Is brake squealing normal? I heard more high-performing vehicles' brakes do squeal because of larger brakes and/or rotors... or something along the lines of that?

I've had numerous cars with big brembo brakes and they all squealed to some extent. The higher performing the brakes are the more noise they make imo.
I've had track pads installed on my cars before and the increased bite/feel/performance was phenomenal compared to the street pads but they also squealed like hell. Alan

print it and bring it to them. i had the bearings and the spacer fix done. on a side note gone is that light clunk i would hear turning in and out of my driveway that accompanied my ticking sound. can't hurt. I was asking for a buyback if they didn't fix it. |

So basically the reinforcement plate and bolts were not torqued from factory correctly.
And a little loctite to seal the deal...simple fix it surprised there isn't a TSB (if this indeed was a fix).

Update on status: 8700 miles on odo, ticking sound has returned on front-passenger side. Was taking a loooong sweeper (concrete corkscrew ramps of parking garage at SeaTac airport - 4 floors of winding up, turning left, with concrete berms right next to you - AKA: echo chamber) and audibly heard the sound clear as day. Wife turned to me at the same point with an "oh shit, not again" look on her face. Leaving the airport the sound was easily noticeable even driving in a straight line. Will be calling local dealership Monday.
For context: had both fixes applied, with the wheel bearing fix applied around 6700 miles. I drive moderately, slightly aggressive - this is a daily driver that sees only surface streets, so not a lot of opportunity to "drive it like I stole it". Glad I leased at this point - not a first good experience in to the world of BMW.

With my car going in for service again tomorrow, for computer/battery issues at 12051 miles, I'm seriously considering selling the vehicle (I stupidly purchased, and didn't lease), and driving the M4 we ordered through the Individual Manufaktur program. Its hold on sale has been released as of yesterday, so it'll be here within a few weeks' time. |

Bad news - my brakes squeak and I have the ticking
Good news - its a lease Bad news - still have 32 months left on the lease I've yet to try anything as Ive not gotten to 1200 miles yet, but this will definitely be my last BMW for a while. I experienced some brake squeal with my M5, but nothing like this. I honestly wont even drive this thing unless its raining out bc I dont want to get my 911 dirty. I know some can deal with it, but this brake squeal is ridiculously embarrassing. Fortunately for me, none of the noises seem to bother my wife. I plan to get these issues looked at in mid-Sept at my 1200, and hopefully 1 of the 2 are addressed. I plan to get the brake chamfering done altho I know its temporary and I plan to speak to my SA prior to going in to see how they plan to address the bearings.

Tomorrow go to "fix" the clicking issue for the third time. This is my third and the last BMW too. Bought new Q7 for my wife, great everyday use car, but nothing about sport. |

LMAO
Poor guys haha I'd be curious to see if this could happen to one of you. I had the clicking noise right at the beginning , now my car is 46 000 km (28 600miles) and the noise disappeared a while ago ! Never came back |
