Anyone on this forum come from a different SUV to an X5? I'm looking to get into a BMW X5, but also looking at MB M and Audi Q7 or VW Touareg. Any thoughts or anything I should know? Thanks, guys.

My wife has an ML. Both great cars. ML will be updated next year, Q7 will be all new soon. ML steering is super light. Depends on what you like.

My wife has the q7 diesel. Audi diesel engine is better than e70, but would imagine f15 diesel is now at least as good. Q7 is comfortable (we have air suspension), but it is a boat of a vehicle. It doesn't handle anything like as good as the f15. As said, q7 is due to be replaced soon (next year?).

2015 Bmw X5
Hey all! this is my very first post here and my very first BMW ever....
I got a few incentives from USAA and I financed through BMWFS. Here's what I got: BMW x5, xdrive35i Imperial blue metallic Ivory White and Black Dakota Leather interior (I don't like tan flooring) Luxury Line (which i wanted to change to the xLine but it was too late. My order already went to SC) Cold Weather Package Driver Assistance Package Driver Assistance + Lighting Package Premium Package Soft-close automatic doors Brushed Aluminum trim Comfort Rear Seats Parking Assistant Harmon Kardon sound system Enhanced USB and Bluetooth plus Smartphone Intergration I got mine for $67,250 After reading all these reviews, however, I wished I had put the following on it: Xline Multi-contour seats Space Saver Dynamic Damper Control (or any kind of upgraded suspension) What do you all think????? I'm sure i'm just overthinking things...and I should just be happy with what I picked out. Overall, I think I will be happy with my purchase. I purchased on 8 October. I'm not really sure when it's supposed to get to me, however. I'm having it shipped from SC to TX. So i'll definitely update you all with the estimate time of delivery. |

I think dealer could have done better, did you negotiate much, what was MSRP? It's very close to my build except for color & line (I got x-Line and Jet Black (a.k.a. black as hell), exact same interior and most of the options, except PA and Rear Seats)
Space Saver = I never had to use a spare on mine, but the added cargo space is awesome. Multi Contour seats = are you coming from a MC Seat vehicle (benz, audi, etc..) or just regular seat vehicle? Because I really like the regular seats on BMW and I find it very tricky to adjust the MC seats if you mess with it and not set it to memory, the only thing I liked in MC is the headrest, rest is no big deal for me, so don't worry. I won't even tell you about how they hug you and how there is a setting to adjust the width.. but yeah, forget about them. Dynamic Damper = Will you have passengers most of the time? If not, it doesn't really impact the ride quality that much, I've been told that Dynamic Handling Package is the only way to go if you want upgraded ride, but I chose LED, Winter, and couple of additional upgrades instead of $4500 DHP.

I have a 2010 Acura TSX right now...so no, i'm not coming from a MC seat right now. just a standard seat. I test drove one without MC, and it felt find to me. But again, I was only in the car for about 15 minutes. Doesn't matter now...I got the regular ones! LOL No, I will probably be the only person in this SAV most of the time. So I guess if you put it that way, I didn't really need the Damper option. It's my first BMW anyway...so I'm just learning a lot of what it can do. I think i will be happy with my choice. Did you have yours custom built as well? |

pricing via Costco
I just purchased a 2015 X5. We have two dealers in our area and the best price was about $2000 under invoice on a fully loaded car.
I am a member of Costco and found out that BMW is part of their program. I entered my information and got a response from the dealer the next day. One call to configure the car and he sent the build sheet back that had the dealer cost and MSRP by option. $1000 over dealer invoice was the price. Dealer was great about the delivery. I did have to drive 100 miles to get it but I saved about $6,000 off of MSRP. Very simple process and a good price. Love the car except i ordered the spare and BMW just tosses it in where the storage pan should be. No padding, no pan, nothing to protect any of the wiring next to the spare. Long story on why i have a spare when it has run flats. |
