Why don't they put the all digital instrument cluster on the new X5/6s?

Finally- it's about time!
Main frustration I had on my previous 11 X5M was the transmission.
I always felt that my X5M was more like step sister since it was lacking M specific transmission, seats and M specific techs (engine, steering wheel and suspensions) ...

I hope they design M specific seats (instead of slapping with regular sport seats) then X5/6Ms will in line with BMW M-line ups.

Looks like the little grille logo on the BMW ///M models other than the regular sedan/coupe series (meaning Z, X series) will not read the full model name as it should (X6 ///M) and as slapped on the trunk, but just the ///M logo

This is great news!

The first thing that stood out to me was the 7000 rpm redline unlike the 7200 redline in the F1xM:

I wonder what they are having up their sleeves regarding the engine.

Hopefully, there are better colour selections for the exterior and interior, as well as Nappa leather. The leather on my '13 X5M, while robust and durable, is kind of out of keeping with a M product.

Hope it also comes in with as aggressive a look as the old one did.

We all do. The next engine will most likely be in the next M5/6 so if it only has a 7k redline.......

It was an automatic but one that shifts super fast and has no input lag.

The steering wheel, the diff, the engine and the suspension are M - specific, as far as I can recall, on the '11 X5M. If it were otherwise, it would just be an M - Sport X5.

But yes, the seats could be more tight, and the tranny definitely is the lowest point of the car. Although, I have to say the X5M in its current gen is still a very fun car to drive and has substantial power and torque reserves.
