But it seems that no Diesels are being built right now for the US. is the dealer bs'ing me? Or do they still build 2015s?
As far as I know and our friend SlammedR8 mentioned, you could have ordered a 2015 diesel until a few weeks back. Note that, all orders are now subject to My order guide 2015 and not 2016.
When our dealer came to us to announce the cancellation of our 2016 Diesel, it was mentioned that we can still get our exact config but a 2015 tag. BMW Canada managed to salvage all November diesel orders and deliver but the tag would have been 2015 instead of 16.
But I'm not sure if they are still offering December diesels or they are waiting for the new 2016.

Also, can someone post any reference from BMW directly about the 2016 "black" interior that is different from 2015 because it didn't mention this in any of the order guides I saw, unless I missed it.
I think you ordered the Ivory interior same as ours. I don't think there was a difference from 2015 to 2016. Ours is a 2016. This will give you an idea of the Ivory Seats and Black bottom.

I would have to seriously disagree that a beige carpet would always look clean, while the black carpet would not. My mother in law's 535xi has the full on beige interior. What a disaster..unless you plan to keep rubber mats in all year round. If it so much as rains one day and you get into the car the carpets are dirty and you can see it. Black carpet needs good vacuum but they will rarely ever get stained unless you spill coffee or salt of course. I think you have it backwards buddy!

Glad to see BMW making this change as it will make the beige interior more liveable and friendly to clean/maintain.

That said, are you sure that's Canberra beige? Sure looks like Ivory interior to me!

Yep! I ordered black on black/ivory. Same as yours! But everyone is talking about some change for 2016, but I don't think it applies to the ivory interior as the bottoms were always black.

I wish the Ivory Nappa Leather would come with the carpets/bottom of the doors in black. That's the interior I would have chosen because I REALLY wanted the leather dash/doors. But with ivory nappa, the carpets are Ivory and that's a big no no for me!

We have had light brown interior for years and ours has always looked clean. The black stuff on the doors shows every scuff and the black carpet shows every hair and every little flake of whatever. Now we do clean our cars on a regular basis and we have floor mats. My M3 has black interior and after I vacuum it it looks dirty after a day or so. Not the light brown interior. But of course is is a matter of taste.

100% accurate for 2016 beige interior change. We got my wife a 15 for this reason (back in August - 35i). Personally I hate the two tone look.

In the E70 we had the tan interior. We had summer mats and for the winter Weathertech Mats and it was hard to keep the tan carpet that was exposed looking clean. The door trim always had black scuff marks from shoes and we are very clean and careful folk.

My wife was determined to have the Ivory interior and I agreed because it had the black carpet and trim. I have to say it's striking and I think up against the black exterior will look exceptional.

On another note, my wife is heading up north to the cottage for a few days and is taking my Jeep which means I have the X5 . Got the winter setup on X5 which looks really Check them out http://f15.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho...1175128&page=3. New Weathertech mats should arrive at BMW on Monday for me to pick up.

I can imagine your beige interior looks great but get the Weathertech Liner http://www.weathertech.com/bmw/2015/...er-digitalfit/. Trust me it will save your carpet. I had a tan interior the quality of those mats make a big difference.

I feel bad that I started this discussion. It's all about personal taste. I am curious how this will work out tomorrow for me. If I can't order the 2015 color scheme, I'll be in trouble with my wife......

LOL, no issues. You are absolutely correct, It's personal preference. Lots of different options and they all look good. We have 4 cars with 4 different interiors - Ivory White, Saddle Brown, Black and Tan.

Enjoy the car.

My F30 was all in Beige...I can tell you one thing...keeping it clean during winter time, especially with all the salt and dirt in the streets of Toronto was a nightmare... I also have to admit that if they are clean, the light color is a whole different ballgame and it really shows superior...but keeping it constantly shiny is the hard part IMO.
Someone mentioned earlier that hair showing on black mat...I think that's relative...we have black hair so it showed bold on beige carpets...if you have light or blonde hair, it probably elevates on black///
so here's the new rule folks: Blond and light haired folks stick to beige and black and brunettes, stay with black for mat and legroom color!

I will follow that rule. Also, where we live no salt, no snow. Makes it a lot easier to keep it clean....

Yes have them in both X5's. Mine has ivory white nappa package, so white carpet. It looks amazing, though.

2016 x5 Diesel

The 2016 x5 Diesel build is now available on the BMW website. I guess there will be an announcement of some type in the near future on availability of the car.

Well, turns out my 2015 order was an "error" by the dealer. They claimed on Monday that they would have 100% no problems ordering a 2015 with the all Canberra interior. I asked them several times if they were sure and both the salesdude and the manager agreed. Well, two days later the call and of course they cannot order one anymore. only a 2016 with the black interior. What kind of training do those people get? None?

I believe the problem is not at the dealer level but above. They are just as frustrated as us.

that's true...it is just f'd up all the way to the top...the VW story has affected the whole thing IMO...even if not directly, the hesitation in the system for everything they are doing is evident...

Well, they could have checked before they had me fill out all the paperwork and they took my deposit. The salesguy promised me to email back with new info on Thursday. Nothing. Now they went silent. And they have my deposit....

I stopped by my dealer and they still have no word on any 2016 production allotments. Maybe its just my dealer that is mis-informed. Does anyone know if we can now order a 2016?
