From what I remember, it looked just like the current key (and the pic posted above) but the metal part surrounding the plastic felt like actual metal. I know the old key was heavier for sure - but for all I know it could have been a weight inside the key Not a big deal, just something that I noticed when I handed over the old keys for the new.
Although I will say that the Tesla dealer gave me a P100D to drive for the weekend and the key (although cool because it looks like the car) was all plastic with no weight - at first I thought they were handing me a toy until they told me it was the key. Then again, that car doesn't come with HUD or wireless charging, which I'd expect as standard in a $135k+ car, so I don't know what to expect anymore...
