I love your X5. I was pretty set on getting white for my F15 order next year but I think I'll have to go with Space grey again. This would make it my 3rd car in a row in this color

I am glad that there are several oem plus wheel sizes for the F15 that looks amazing. No need to spend 10K on aftermarket wheels that probably aren't as strong. Any reason why you guys don't go with a wider tire in the back? Looking at everyone with 21 wheels the tires in the back could be beefier/wider where as now they look almost rounded with semi stretch. Just my personal preference i guess. I love seeing X5's with massive wide tires from the rear.

Wider? The rear tire is 325's already...isn't that wide enough? LOL! Lamborghinis come with 335 sized tires and those are WIDDDEEEE!

I almost went with white but after hearing about how BMW has several shades of alpine white and seeing folks with mismatched body panels, I'm very glad I went with Space Grey. It's my first time getting this color and I love how it turned out!

Nice pictures. It is the craftsman, not the tools that matter.

+1.. The 315's are already nice and wide let alone 325's. No reason to go any wider than 325's unless you want a monster truck look lol

It's a BMW, not a jeep wrangler

Just my humble opinion.....

+1 on the plus tire size. My GT3 has 305's and those already seem like steam rollers. The 325's are perfect on the X5.

++1 on Space Grey - My first time with this color too. For me it's a compromise color between Silver and black.

Just added the front flaps and swapped the driver's side grille to the "open" type. Many thanks to R33 for sourcing these for me

@atomic80, it looks really good! It looks like you got the splitters to match your paint? I was honestly thinking it should be left alone, but it definitely looks much nicer with the matching color. The open air grille is also much much better - symmetry FTW!

His camera skills are def part of it, but I also believe it has to do with his Opticoat finish.

Maybe I should get it done. Looks good! It's like having a wax coat that never dulls.

Yeah, that's what it seems to do. I'm debating between this and the 9H Ceramic Coat (a full body coat that costs around $1500 US - similar price). Armen383 did the ceramic (it's like 6 layers - looks really nice and has a hydrophobic layer).

Lol! My car was dirty when I took that picture. I guess it didn't look like it. Opticoat really does a good job keeping my car nice and shiny I admit.

Hi atomic80,

Was the footrest an easy install? My dealer tells me it will not fit my car (30d with M package).

Thanks,
Ivan

It was super easy to install...make sure the old footrest is cleaned up and just take the sticker cover off and stick it on top.

That's the radar emitter for the active cruise control.
