Smashed Driver side mirror....

So we were visiting family this evening, and parked on a busy street with a curve. I assume someone wasn't paying attention, and drifted too far to the right. Probably hit my mirror with theirs.

Pictures shown. Hoping to order the parts myself and either install or take to the dealer - no warranty coverage for this!

Need the actual glass for sure, and the mirror cap. I am hoping that's all. Or am I going to be buying more parts? Looks like the inside piece is missing some plastic.

I was able to detached the (destroyed) old mirror, and safely pull out the three leads coming from inside the car.

@jordanm3 , looks like the base motor still in tack.
You will need the base cover, back cover and the glass.
Let me know if you need help in getting the parts.

On euro spec they fold if you keep lock button on key depressed for 2 sec.
Can be coded to less. Or more...

There's also a button you can press when u wish to fold lol. Having them fold every time you lock the car is just running the motor for no nessacary reason imo.

Although this was an unfortunate event, you can see it as an oppurtunity to get euro wide angle mirrors.

Ditto. You know how many times I'd come out to my old car in a parking lot to find a mirror bent in or out by itself? People walking by just don't pay attention and end up whacking them.
Fold 100% of the time on the F15 now.

Sucks that it happened but lucky that the whole side didn't get sideswiped.

Taran.J Along with the powered mirrors it's a no cost option, at least in the UK.
To operate you just keep your finger/thumb pressed on the BMW roundal and the mirrors on both sides fold in.

PM me the last 7 of your VIN, and I will find out the exact part number for your car.
