The current ICM unit that i found is coming from an F10 not F15 tho.

If it is 5.4 it will work. You will need to flash the ICM with your VIN and code it. You are gonna be fine!

I finally have gotten all the parts (ICM 5.7, DSC ACC, FRR-01) en-route, except the MFL steering button cos the seller is still away.

Just a quick question, do u really need this item 5- Male pins x 4 : 61131393703? Is it required for plugging the wires into existing A56*1B and A78*1B connectors?

For power I am thinking to tap into existing F45 with AUC wires (as per the manufacturer’s fuse list)

Hi SaNGRia, hope u can shed some light on this. Needing help as this will be my first major mod.

Used to install electric side step for Q7 but the kit came with all connectors, wires and guide ready with the package.

Yeah, Everything seems correct in the question. You need pins for the plugs and you can use existing AUC line since they are KL15!

Great! I was actually confused that we would need all 8 females instead of 4x males and 4x females.

Anyway i'll wait for the radar, ICM and DSC to arrive first before getting to the wires and pins. These 2 are easier to get as they're shipped from Spore instead of EURO.

I got all the 4 main parts from 4 different countries and now having headache on getting the import duty waiver letter done as these items were in fact 0% taxable based on Msia HS code.

Patience really paid off for getting all those parts under $1k within my allowable limit

Hey, do you would know how to disable the front collision detection permanently?

I am trying disabling the "collision detection warning". The one that gives the big red car logo in the HUD. I find that most of the other settings stay off upon restart (lande departure), and the button also stays orange. But, it always turns the collision warning back on secretly.

I hit a snag, done all as per the instructions but somehow FRR did not populate in ISTA+ nor in Esys 3.30. ISTA+ shows all the no signal errors which i’d assumed related to the signal supposed to be transmitted by the FRR sensor.

Both ICM and DSC ACC were VO coded as well as BDC BODY and KAFAS2 but still nothing appeared. Do i need to flash the ICM as well? I heard the noise when ACC sensor were powered up but yet nothing appeared in the control tree module.

Depends on the year of your vehicle. Mine was 2017. And i still updated all the modules to 2021. If you are 15 or 16 i suggest you to update Kafas and ICM first. If it still doesnt populate, then check your canbus cables. Plus do you hear whining noise when you turn on the ignition from the FRR sensor?

Go and listen to it. It makes weird noise while its on!

My car (2014 made) has been updated to the latest iLevel earlier in April 2021 when i did my warranty claim with official BMW dealer. So it should be already updated for the KAFAS, only ICM is coming from donor car. I guess i should be flashing that ICM module first?

Yes, there is weird sound coming from the radar when i turned it on! Another culprit might be the canbus cable as you’ve mentioned. The tech that assisted me did a piss poor job with the wires. It wasn’t twisted properly and and the branch to KAFAS was disjointed earlier probably during routing of wires in engine bay. He didn’t solder this 2 wires!

In anticipation of somehow the FRR was faulty, i did the below steps;
1. Bought another FRR-01 just to run test.
2. Flashed ICM and KAFAS2 to latest SWFL. Flashing was completed wo error.
3. ISTA+ now showing LRR_0x21 similar to u before. But in Esys 3.30 still no FRR module tree. Both FRR module that i have shows similar results.
4. I've checked the KAFAS2 wiring and swapping the wires (in case i did run incorrectly). No changes, still no ACC appeared in ISTA+ and no FRR in Esys 3.30.
5. ISTA+ error shows that it could not communicate with ACC and there is BUS signal communication error. It also said to check power supply to ACC but i'm sure power is there because weird sound was coming from FRR when i turn the car on.

I am now pretty sure that i need to run new wires. Bought another 7m of twisted pair with new contact pin. Wish me luck pls

Well i would also check the version of ICM. It has to be 5.4 or above. Any other version does not support ACC.

Yerp, checked that. Mine is already upgraded to V5.7, originally it was V4.7. Flashed and everything went well with all black HWEL, BTLD, CAFD and SWFL.

Long weekend + public holiday is coming and i need to open up center console. I guess i will take a break for a while now. Will dissemble the console and rerun the wiring from ICM again probably next week.

Glad to report that everything went well now!

Yerp it was the wrong pin connection at ICM that caused all the ruckus. I put too much trust on the tech that assisted me and didn't verify it properly. Ended up i had to open the center console again (alone this time) and corrected the pins. Then VO coded 5AT to the whole car.

ACC worked wonderfully tho the system brake too late in my opinion (set at 3 bar distance). Anyway looking forward to add the 5AR function next

Excellent. That is what i like to hear Finding the problem and completing the project your own is the best thing. And next time you will do it all your own

There is no one gonna work as good as yourself since it belongs to you. Others just work for you. There is some really works good, some just side tracks and does not do a good job.

But i am glad you sorted out and now you have a very advance feature! Congrat!

everything is possible. If you dont have Park Assist, you can always get a new dsc acc pump and replace the ICM.
