Newbie here, looking for advice
Hey!
Long story short, my x5 40e was sagging in the rear. Ordered and replaced new compressor. Still sagging. And now the chassis warning light is on. Replaced relay. Still sagging. but now the compressor kicks on for about a second then quits. Put old relay and old compressor back in, the chassis warning goes away, but the compressor does not kick in. I'm told by a local BMW specialty shop that it needs to be coded... but they won't do it because they did not install the parts. Ideas? Should I purchase the ISTA software and if so are the codes embedded to clear and reset the air suspension? Thanks in advance. |

There's no such coding for the compressor to my knowledge. Your new compressor maybe defective. Take your old compressor and service it. You can even swap the parts from your new to make the job easier. I've done that and have had zero issues after 2 years now. I had a replacement one and never ended up using it. Just swap the beads and the solenoid thing.
