You'd be better off selling your current car and getting one with the options you want. Parts are expensive plus a lot of labor/programming.

I agree with all the above... What you're looking to do is a huge waste of time and money along with a huge nuisance since you'll have to recode the vehicle after every dealer visit where an update is completed... lastly it would void the warranty for every item you swapped out. You are much better off trading in your current vehicle for something more along the lines of what you really wanted from the beginning.

I've always loved retrofitting options to my cars, though my current one doesn't leave much room for improvement Let me give you my take on your mods though:
1. Sure, why not. Personally I wouldn't go OEM, surely there is better to be found for same or lower prices. 2. I only have the reversing cam and I have thought about retrofitting the other cameras as well but quickly dismissed the idea. I think it will be costly and time consuming and doesn't add anything really. Sure it's nice the first times you enable it but I find myself ignoring the reverse camera most of the time to be honest. 3. Definitely, fun and easy and if you can get them for a good price I'd go for it. A huge improvement. 4. Don't. Really, I have them (first car with soft close) and although I had fun looking at this door 'closing itself' it's something I won't be using. Nor am I able to explain this to my passengers so save yourself the time and money. |
