I was at the taping of the Talking Dead in the rain. The producer dudes seemed pretty humble to me. Although, Rick was the first one to throw his umbrella to the crowd and take the rain like a man. Daryl followed suit, and then the producer dudes. And Chris Hardwick never even considered using an umbrella. Carol was there too but not on the show. She seemed really down to earth...happy to interact with the fans and everything. All in all, a pretty cool group of people on that show.

You can't introduce a whole new dimension of people and another 30+ cast members via an hour long slaughter scene. I liked the build-up. It leaves a lot of things now in play, that as of last week, looked impossible.

I also like Carol and Morgan, and wondered what happened to them. It's strange that they wound up with each other (so far), since they are so similar in so many ways, but somehow don't realize it.

King Ezekiel went from a nutcase to a human playing a part, that turns out to be likeable and can be taken tongue-in-cheek for the viewing audience, but not his subjects. It will be fun to see him go full king crazy for them, with us knowing his secret.

They also tied Negan and the Saviors back into it. I suspect only one or two episodes before Rick and crew somehow meet Ezekiel, who, according to the kid Ben, contemplated fighting Negan et al, but realized he didn't have the manpower or expertise. If/When Rick's group makes it to meet Ezekiel, you know that a conflict with Negan is immenent. If I had to guess, Jesus will show up and get them together, since he's another person that's still around and unaccounted for.

King Ezekiel is an "instant likeable character"! I am glad where the writers took this. His coming clean to Carol about him being a Zookeeper (which I figured even before he said it) and having taken some acting classes, gives him a very realistic and down to earth likeability.
Are these same asshats that come begging for food from the Kingdom, part of Neegans clan or some other?

If so, clearly Carol and Morgan are about to train all of these buttery soft townsfolk for a epic battle/showdown!

Gotta love how Ezekiel is feeding those jerkoffs 'walker-fed swine'. LOL!

Neegan is the leader of the Saviors. Same people. I believe that a couple of the people who collected the pigs were there with Neegan and Rick, last episode.

The Saviors are mafioso parasites and when they were first introduced last season, where scamming another group for food.

So many opportunities where Rick could have put a bullet in Negan'/ head and didn't. Negan is annoying as fuck. If it was me I would have shot him and have an all out fight with his men. They can't survive without the supply of food anyway.

Without Negan and the random killing of two solid characters (thank God nothing happened to my sweet Maggie), I would've been done with this shit show. Milked a good chunk on the season and cliffhang the crap out of the finale. Wife and I both fell asleep on the season finale. First episode was just to see who got bat fucked and the rest is snooze fest milkery again. Negan is what's needed for this crap to survive. I was looking forward to see how Coral would cope with one eye and one arm too.

So, I expect more painful humiliation and side stories of King Ezekiel for a week, then a mix of The Saviors and Jesus (they go together anyway).

I liked the cringeworthiness of this week's episode. Yeah, it was a filler, but a huge setup from "can it get any worse" to "holy sh!t, they got out of that".
