F15 Coding

What is the first step to coding my x5? And what can be done to it? How much will it cost? The only portable computer I have is my MacBook Pro if that is needed

I know nothing about coding so please help

Everything you need to know is in the master coding thread. First question is how new your car is/when's the last time you were in for service where they updated the software. If your software is pre v55.1, then you're golden and you can start coding with ease once you purchase the cable.
Otherwise, it can still be done, but will take more effort and help from Opasha, shawnsheridan, etc.
