Paint Bubbling Near Center of Rear Wheels

I picked up a 2014 X5 M Sport a couple of weeks ago and noticed the paint on the rear wheels is bubbling and the fronts are starting to show signs that they may be starting soon. Has anyone seen this before? I bought the car with 30k miles so I don't know if they are refinished, or if this is a factory flaw. Will BMW replace under warranty if they have not been refinished?

That's a 100% refinish - I had exactly same thing on my e90 refinished rims. Should be under warranty issue

I'm a little confused by your post. You are saying these have been refinished but should be covered under warranty? I would suspect that if they have been refinished BMW would not cover it.

You bought it CPO correct? So it has to have warranty including paint on car peeling off. I suspect dealer did a refinish (and not a good job) before selling car to you and that's why paint is peeling off. I mean you shouldn't worry who did it and why it's peeling off - if it is - dealer has to take care of it - given car is under warranty still

I didn't buy it CPO but it still has factory warranty.

That should work too

We have some similar issues with some forum members here on forum and they got it resolved with dealers. Point is - if paint is peeling while car is under warranty - dealer will take care of it

The only time dealer may refuse - is if paint damage was done by a road debris for example, but in your case - a bad paint job is obvious

You can see from a mile away these have been sprayed in the car park when your vehicle was being prepped for sale. Not uncommon whatsoever. This was just a bad job. Take it back, and ask them to fix it.

Looks like a bad repair for this growing problem others are experiencing. I'm still waiting to hear from my dealer if covered under warranty:
