Spacers installed

Bought some spacers from Ben (R33_RGSport) and installed them this weekend. I would have to say it looks 10x better. I didn't think the stock fitment was that bad... until I saw the after pics. Anyway, take a look... I highly suggest anyone on the fence to pick up a set from Ben.

Looks great. Hope you have Xpel (or similar) on the doors, rockers and wheel arches!

Looks good...what brand did you go with? I am considering them but have concerns about rocks since the stock setup is already causing issues...I even have some marks already in my two week old Xpel rocker panel pieces.

I went with H&R. Yeah I understand the concern about the rock chips. My new wheels will have similar fitment so there's no way around it

Is that stock ride height with only spacers or are you lowered?

How's the ride with spacers? I was thinking of installing spacers myself but didn't wanna jeopardize the ride.

Ride feels great to me. I'm prob exaggerating a little but it feels more planted. I think it's one of the cheapest/best mods I've done so far

Can you get a similar ride height from springs? Not sure how much you dropped it inch wise. Do you know if their is a sleeve kit. I don't want to delete EDC. Also how is your ground clearance. I don't want to make this something I have to worry about driving and durning into most driveways like my M3 is

I can't opine to the ride height vs. H&R but I can't imagine it'll be materially different. I know I have another inch to go lower if I wanted to. Ground clearance is great. I have a 997TT with a techart kit on H&R springs so driving the x5m is like driving my truck in terms of ground clearance

H&R spring is the closest, but the ride quality is far from it.
Don?t worry about ground clearance, I lowered many F15 X5 and F85 X5M (That?s right, no love from the sportier F16 X6 and F86 X6M) and there are no issues in ground clearance.
Let me know if you are interested.

I have the sleeve kit on my M3 and I don't think that it impacted ride quality poorly. I'm sure it's not the same as coils but the goal wasn't to have that. Is the ride quality better or worst than stock or about the same?

Well, sleeve kit and lowering spring are 2 different thing. They do the same purpose, but different.
Also it will depends on the products spec and design.
In this case, the H&R lowering spring will be stiffer and a bit bouncier than stock.

Oh, I realize they're different, but does anyone offer a sleeve kit for the X5 M?

So if you want EDC, your only option is springs from H&R or ACS then and it seems like ACS is almost so little you can't even tell from what I found online. My main concern is not impacting the truck handling a lot. If I want to drive 100mph is it going to make that much of a difference? Like I'm not gonna track this truck and I'm not super concerned about it impacting the comfort and being a little stiffer.

Oh, oh, so rock chips damage is significantly increased with spacers? Didn't think of that, duh.

Correct. If you want to keep EDC, you need to keep the stock shock.
ACS gives very little drop on the F85/F86 X5M/X6M. H&R gives the most drop, just be ready of stiffer ride and a little bouncy.
Don?t get me wrong, I have sold a lot of H&R springs also and not everyone complained on it.
I personally was fine with the stiffness since I have race/street coilover setup on my Porsches.

Just don?t drive on gravel or off-road in a high speed.
I had wider wheels in mine and spacers when running stock wheels. 3 years I got no rock chip.
Meanwhile, some other forum member with his stock F15 X5 got a lot of rock chips on his rocker panel.

I never drive on gravel roads or off-road and my rocker panels were getting chipped in just a few weeks before getting Xpel installed. Maybe our area (CT) has more small rocks on paved roads.
