Coding DIY
Hey guys,
I just started coding my car this AM and it is amazingly simple, here is what you need: Buy this: Vgate Wifi iCar2 OBDII Elm327 Supports all OBDII protocols Code Reader for IOS iPhone iPad Android PC(Black) Download this to code: Bimmercode - on app store Buy the unlimited coding package - $26.99 And your all set just follow the instructions. Once you get the vgate: Plug into your port Turn on ignition (don't have to start engine) Connect to the module via wifi from your phone Open app Connect to the vgate and your off! FYI I have no association with any of these companies just thought I'd share the knowledge to help others out! |

thanks for sharing! I feel like we are on the same timeline/journey on modding our x5ms! I actually just started inquiring about the coding options. Do you have to leave the vgate plugged in? What options are there?

Ya I used the cheat sheet to try and guide me but I couldn't see any options to change that would change colors. This is what mine showed.

I followed this but where is says colors I don't have anything like that. Nothing that says hellrot or hellblu or whatever. Just what it says in the pics.

That the cheat sheet for the ESYS/expert mode that RG33 made.
You mind taking some screen shots of the settings you have for the lighting?

Great stuff here. Thanks for sharing the lighting info.
I have the module and the bimmer code ap. Changed a bunch of things but I have not been able to change anything with controlling the LED "angel eyes" brightness. I'd like to make them full bright with headlights on. And I'd like to be able to toggle the 3 little amber LEDS on the sides to see which way I prefer. Anyone know where these settings are located as I cannot find them in "normal" mode and don't wanna mess around in expert unless I know where I am looking. Thanks! (this is on my '16 F85 if it matters) |
