Any updates to the clicking?

I was previously subscribed to a thread on the clicking in the front wheels - I had it addressed, went away and now is back. I only hear it currently on slow right turns, but its getting louder. Either it was fixed with an actual SIB or people gave up on the issue.

I was curious because between that and the squeaky brakes in the garage, I just dont see myself getting the next gen X5M if BMW isnt addressing it as an actual issue, too many other options.

Has anyone gotten a real solution to this?

Thanks

I had mine fixed based on the SIB 1500 miles ago and still quiet. Fingers crossed. I was told squeaky brakes are normal with M cars. No fix.

Keep us posted on whether or not this comes back. Mine is new (400 miles) and so far no issue but I have been tracking this thread since last year...hopefully I don't have the issue but want to be prepared if I do. Mine was built the last week in July so if there was a fix, I am hoping it was incorporated in recent builds.

Now that I think about it, I think I already had this SIB completed. Some reported they had done it and it did come back, others no. Im checking with my SA.

Will keep you posted. My clicking didn't start until around 3000 miles. From that point on it has been constant at low speeds until I had it fixed.

When I spoke to my SA about the issue and to apply a specific SIB he told me they can't go by a specific SIB. They need to physically inspect that car and then make a decision on what to do. I would just bring the car back and tell them the issue is not fixed.

I haven't had the clicking on my X5M, but I did have it on my F10 M5. I had the wheel bearings replaced, but the clicking came back. It got progressively worst over time. The issue obviously has not been addressed by BMW.

Same here. I had this clicking on my F82 and had it repaired. I have to look at the paperwork to see what the actual repairs were. I was out of town.

My tech looked it up. It was first there for the F15 and then further down for the F85. Just got it back last week. He knew the minute he drove it. The parts took about a week from Germany. Ask your SA to look into it.

Thanks for sharing. Was this fix done the first time you went in or has your truck been in there multiple times? I assume the noise is gone now?

The fix was done on the first visit. I don?t use my X5M much during the summer, and my son who had it out noticed the noise getting worse. I made an appointment and my tech heard it right away and was pretty sure it was either a bearing or axle. After digging into the service bulletins he found it. Parts took one week to arrive and total time was about 2 weeks from start to finish. Yes the noise is gone now. And no I don?t drive it because I don?t like it, just that it is my cold weather car.

Now with over 10K miles on my X5M still no clicking but the brake squeal is insane. Its tolerable when the wheels/brakes are clean (less noise) but once they are dirty they squeal insanely loud. Going to bring it up at my next service for sure. Is there a fix for the brake squeal yet?
