Mine has been in this week. Turns out one of wishbones replaced under warranty 10K miles ago went bad again. Since it was covered under warranty previously, I now need to come out of pocket for the repairs.

Looking at $800 for each side.

Don’t they warranty the repairs for a year?

Not when the repair was performed under factory warranty.

Just posted in the 50I > 50K miles thread:

In for service at 67k miles. Everything looks good besides the front thrust arm bushings. SA said they're cracking and splitting which has caused cupping on outer part of the front tires. Quote was around $650 parts and labor. I declined to get a second opinion or to look up a DIY.

This is the same:
SIB 31 03 17 - “front lower wishbones with index in 4 or lower and perform 4 whee alignment”

Funny thing is I haven't heard any creaking or any odd noise from the front suspension. I have notices some slight vibration in the steering wheel over 45MPH..

Violator, how many miles when you brought in for service? What was quote for the suspension work?

I believe the mileage was around 40k and all of the work was covered under warranty.
P1et stated above that yesterday he was quoted $800 per side.
Are they including an alignment or will that be tacked on top of the $1600 charge? Ouch!

I wonder if these are covered under BMW or 3rd-party warranties, or excluded as wear/tear parts.

When I had the first set of wishbones replaced under warranty at 48,500 miles, it did come with an alignment.

Not sure if it'll be included this time!

I wasn’t impressed with it at that time, probably due to it being in the mix with several other true ///M vehicles such as the X6M, M4, and M5. Driving them all back to back made the X3 M40i seem weak (obviously).
But real world driving for 3 days and 300+ miles left me impressed. Other than it being smaller (interior and exterior) and lacking staggered wide rear tires it is a great riding SAV. In Sport Plus/Individual mode it was very quick and the exhaust was on par or better than my MPE. It also was loaded with updated tech compared to MY2016 X5. The seats were too small/narrow for my liking, I’d have to see about an upgrade option. But the price was right, it has a MSRP at $61K and had some nice 21” wheels.
Overall it’s a nice option if you don’t need the space and room of the X5, it fit much better in the garage as well.
Thank you for your thoughts.

Warranty is actually 2 years unlimited miles, but only if you paid for the parts/labor.

In case some people don't know, there is warranty on parts you paid for but installed yourself... obviously the warranty would only cover the parts in this instance.
