Towing a boat with X6...

I picked up a 2016 BMW X6 xDrive50i back at the beginning of June. I thought I'd report on my first towing trip with it in case anyone is interested. We keep a 24' Yamaha on Lake Lanier and drove it 685 miles down to SW Florida for vacation. I didn't really know what to expect because I never really considered BMW to be a go-to tow vehicle, although this may have just been my personal bias. Well, this car beat the Yukon I had previously done this trip with hands down. It was a pleasure to drive and in a couple of situations where I needed quick acceleration, she would easily pin my head back against the headrest while towing at 5500 lbs boat.

BTW - I had the StealthHitches package installed a few weeks ago. I really can't say enough good things about the product or people there. I had it installed in their shop. On Friday when I picked up the boat, I wasn't sure about the height of the hitch being correct and they let me drop in, inspected the boat on the trailer, and changed out the ball mount to add a few inches for no charge. Really good guys...

That's quite a sexy setup. Good to hear that this platform is so good for towing.
