Question Option/Package Code Details

Hey guys. So being new to the X5, I am still learning the vehicle (and loving it thus far!). Particularly, I wanted to discuss some of the options listed on my vehicle and see what the actual use is/are and what if any difference they make vs standard? As always, your valuable help/info is appreciated!

S5APA Decode Antiglare FLA Highbeam assist - is the deactivation of some of the desired auto high beam assist functions (that the European versions have) to make them comply with US DOT regulations....which fears that they will create too much glare for oncoming traffic or confuse pedestrians that are along the side of the road as the headlight beams illuminate or cut-in or cut-out around them.

S823A Hotclimate version - codes the HVAC system to operate with parameters designed for hotter climates. It affects the blowers response and the IHKA control panels response to the ambient temps and will close fresh air flaps and turn up the blower to the highest setting....stuff like that.

The chart below shows what the hot country option did to the HVAC system for the e38/e39/e53 era...this design element carries over to the new generation BMWs. For updated info...you can probably find it on the www.newtis.info website...just type in the last 7 digits of your VIN, then type HOT CLIMATE into the search box:

Thanks a lot!

I would like to utilize the various options my car has.

So "Connected Car", I would think it would be something very useful the way it is displayed right on the windshield (rear view mirror)...?
