Is the X5M bumper vs X5 M Sport bumpers identical?

Just asking if the X5M 2016 Front Bumper the same as the 2016 X5 M Sport bumper bumper.

The bottom side grills on the X5M fit the X5 M sport bumper?

Does anyone know this answer?

Same as in respect to the bumper fitting? Possibly since there was someone who retrofitted a X5M front and rear bumpers to a F15 X5.

No they are not the same bumper. Grille openings are shaped differently.

Mounting points are the same. But lower grills opening are different.
The only grill that are the same is the kidney grill.

They look different but it's hard to tell in photos. For me I can easily tell my M4 from a 435 M sport but on the X5s the differences are more subtle. I wanted to know if the lower grills would fit from the X5M but now I know my answer.

An X5M bumper will fit on a X5. If that is what your asking.

Maybe it's a sign to just get a X5M and be at the gas station every other day... Thanks guys for all the help. I was getting confused looking at the X5 5.0M and such too.

The X5M and X5 M Sport have different Front Bumpers
The X5M Bumper has the same mounting points as the X5 M Sport so can be installed
The X5 M50d does not have the same front bumper as the X5M, it has the same bumper as the X5 M Sport bumper but with a silver slat half way through the outer bumper

Hey folks, I hate to beat a dead horse but I am about to pull the trigger on actually purchasing all of the parts to do this conversion (well the insurance company is about to buy the parts). I see 3-4 people above confirmed that you CAN put a 2015 F85 X5M bumper on a 2014 F15 X5 M Sport without any modifications. IE: you buy all of the correct parts and it will mount up fine. Can anyone confirm they have done this or know for sure it works?

Yes, but for front bumper you will also need F85 mounting insert or whatever it's called (forgot the exact name of part). I mean it's not only bumper cover itself, there's more parts needed. But yes, as it was said above - if you buy them all - then it will mount without issues

Search this forum...there's another thread on here about this. Someone was doing this - the upper portion mounted fine, the lower needed some extra hardware/mount supports found on the X5M...if I am recalling correctly. But it did fit...get w/ your dealer and look at the parts breakdown/expanded view of the X5M and your X5...you'll see the different parts required.

So my guy did it. He said it was a nightmare and took lots of fabrication but it looks 100% OEM at this point. Pics below and thanks to Ben for hooking it up with an affordable front lip![IMG]
