Is Dinan shit?

Supposedly they have a piggyback that works well with the MPPK. I never see anyone on here talking about it. Every car I have seen with a Dinan badge usually looks beat up and I have heard from others that Dinan actually made their cars run weird. Anyone had any good results using their stuff?

Dinan makes great stuff. Problem is that other companies will perform the same or better for less cash. Warranty is really what sets them apart.

In regards to the piggyback tune... Dinan is late in their game with our engines.

Racechip and BMS are the top tunes.

Also Dinan's piggyback tune does not come with a warranty that they are known for. But their price is more competitive at $300 vs RCU at $600+

https://www.dinancars.com/product/d4...ries&mid=1210/

EMISSIONS: CARB EO submitted and approval is pending.

WARRANTY: DINANTRONICS Sport does not carry the factory matching warranty that Dinan is known for. DINANTRONICS Sport's warranty is a 1 year product only warranty that does not cover consequential damages or labor reimbursement.

Those "every car with a Dinan badge", are likely not real Dinan cars.

You know anyone can put a badge on a car right?

Had dinan on my 335i and it was flawless -- however, as soon as I was out of warranty, went straight for other tunes because the Dinan really didn't provide much hp for the price... As others said, it's all about the warranty. But Dinan is DEFINITELY not shit.. They put a lot of R&D in their products.

Here's the way it works. Let's say you get a Dinan tune, and you blow your turbos. You go to the BMW dealership, and they will tell you "BMW warranty will not cover this damage, but we will work with Dinan and they will reimburse us for the repairs." There is no extra paperwork or concern on the customer's end, it's all dealt with between BMW and Dinan. I've gone through this once and everything was taken care of seamlessly.

Depends on your SA/Dealer, more non-Dinan tuned cars than Dinan in every state
Also the price for Dinan is equivalent buying the ultimate tune make better power and can still be reliable and not blow up.

You're correct, just make sure your dealership is Dinan certified and doesn't stop selling Dinan products as we've seen. Also, not every Dealership is so helpful as the one you may have. Some folks with Dinan have gone through horrible back and forth where BMW nor Dinan is stepping up causing delays and headaches, then the question comes up was Dinan really worth it afterall.

The Dinan Sport+ $300 is not warrantied but the overpriced Dinantronics has warranty. People are basically paying for a mild tune that has warranty but forget that it only matches your 4yr factory warranty, so if you buy your car CPO and only have 1yr left of factory warranty thats what Dinan will match. Very few people read the fine print.

We have sold many Dinan tunes for the N55 with no complaints! Definitely a great tune.

If you want to pay me $2000+ for a tune, I can give you a RaceChip.
As long you don't change the setting or tamper with the product, also have to be installed by a professional, I will warranty your car for any damage caused by it.

Not bashing in Dinan, it is a great brand and have a great products, just their pricing is just trapping end user with the word "warranty".

Dinan has two version of their piggybacks. The full version Dinantronics that cost 2K+ comes with their warranty. The Sport version that cost $299 does not come with any warranty whatsoever.

Basically you're paying $1700 for warranty.
