Is weather only available thru BMW Online? A paid service right after the initial free trial?
My 2014 CPO doesn't have weather option

Don't quote me on this but I think I read where the 2014 does not have this feature. Either way, unless you are trying to impress yourself or other passengers it's not a big deal.. I rely on my iPhone for weather updates rather than the slow af 3G connection in our X5.

I am with Kzang on this. The split screen is just too small for me. However, I do use split screen on my way to work in the morning to see my gas mileage for the trip and the time it takes me to make the trip. Other than that, I avoid split screen.

Didn't used to, but now I do. Typically media on left, and the weather widget on the right.

Same here. I have always used the split screen E70, E90 and now F15. Navigation is 90% on the main screen and BMW Widget Time/Weather is 90% on the right side. HUD is great also.

This is how I had mine set up for the first 6 months or so but I have since turned the split screen off. I usually have the map on the full iDrive screen and most of my interaction with radio, telephone, and navigation is performed via HUD.

When not using Nav I have map on left, media (ipod) on right. When using Nav, I have Arrow Display on right (map on left). I love the split screen feature as the display is plenty wide enough.

^^This. My 3-year anniversary comes around next month, I don't see myself paying for the renewal.

I never use split screen. I observe a lot people using 2D navigation, but I have always like the 3D perspective. Zooming in and out with the iDrive controlknob works fine for me and the instruction is presented in the HUD. No need for duplicate info.
Media is also controlled via the steering wheel, and iDrive button and presented on the HUD or on the screen. I feel no need at all for arrows or the continuous mentioning of media on the side screen, I can hear which song or album is playing, furthermore it is shown in the upler right corner of the big screen. Weather is totally useless information and the rest of the tripcomputer info can be called up via the switch. |

I never have my navigation up. Once the address is entered my HUD gets me to where I need to be. I loved how I was able to get around in LA so easily with the HUD. It makes me appear I have lived there my whole life.

Yes when I'm on a long trip I usually enable it, so I can see the map and what music is playing. I listen to a lot of sat radio, so it's nice to know.
Otherwise I keep it off so I can see more of the map mainly for traffic info. I have the shortcut set, so it's to enable or disable on whim.
