Y 451 vs M 469 Wheels

Is there any difference between these wheels. I like the style better of the 451 and since it is no charge upgrade with M sport, I am going with the 451.. Does anyone has a pic?

Yep good choice. I like the 451 better than 469M.
Probably their weights are different.

451's look way better imo....The 469 look tiny for some reason. I felt the same about the wheels on X6 5.0 Sport Activity vs X6M on current model. Somehow theyre both 20's but the 469's just don't look nice imo

According to my SA, the Y-spoke 451 is not available when ordering with ZMM, which is the M sport package. Because of the short supply with the 469M, others on this forum have been offered 451 replacement by their ordering. If that is the case, can anyone confirm that this is a no cost upgrade to go from 19" M wheels to 20" Y-spoke instead of 20" 469M on their ZMM?

Thanks

My SA was able to modify the order to add the 451s without any additional charge. I have a M sport package.

If that is the case, than it would be worth considering because the 469M is delaying delivery.

That being said, the 469M in 20" and the 19" M package both have a M-marking on the rim and if not mistaken, the 469M will be the same wheels that the true x5M will be using. So I am on the fence now...

Does anyone have any replacement cost for the 451 and 496M rims? Perhaps this may be considered to decide if $950 469M option is worth it or not... other than for the looks of it

Here are weight info... not price though... It appears the 469M wheels are lighter in weight.

My issue is that my M went into production on 1/7 with the 469s on it. I would rather have the 451s but now that the car is in production, BMW is unwilling to switch them out. The dealer never contacted me giving me the option to switch.....(and I am wondering how long ago BMW made this option available).

On the BMW build website, the 451s are $950 less than the 469s.

If anyone reading this wants to work a swap (your 451s for my 469s) contact me quickly. It could save you $950 while you still get the wheels you want. Otherwise I am going to order another car and wait another 6 weeks for what I want.

My car is scheduled to be delivered at the end of January.

It's been available for M sport on the BMW website for roughly around 2 weeks.

Thanks for the info..... it was available prior to my prod date yet I was not offered a choice. I was in the same holding pattern as everyone else having placed my order the third week of October.

Wow, that is a big difference in unsprung mass when you times the difference by 4! Lighter wheels have a significant effect on handling and performance.

I might be interested.
My X5 M-sport with 451 will be delivered end of next week or so.
You can contact me if you want to swap the wheels with me.
Thanks a lot!

I would not worry too much about the weight of these wheels. If you guys forgot, these are 5,000 lb. SUVs (SAV to be exact). I would just go with what design you like. Personally, I ordered mine with the 451s. In my opinion they look better, and I don't care if they're not a true M wheel like the 469s because these are not X5Ms. They are standard X5s with the M-Sport package. The fact that they are a no cost option makes it even better.

I have ordered the 469M wheels and my dealer or BMW changed it to the 451 without even telling me. I just found it out last week and my car arrived yesterday at the dealer, will pick it up tomorrow. Personally I like the style of the 451 more than the 469M and I save $950.

+1 on all counts. Well, except it's 6600 lbs

I'm a little pissed this wasn't available when we ordered. I'm pretty happy with the M sport 19's. But that is large in part because I didn't like the 469's. 451's I would have taken, even if they too were a $950 upgrade. Free? no brainer.

I'd really appreciate it.
