Is plastic dipping the orange reflector a hard to do? It looks great!

Isn't it hard to get the tape perfectly taped up around the edges? The pictures doesn't look like he has them on the edges perfectly but the paint didn't get on the body?

It's because it's plastidip, not paint. It's a vinyl like thick paint layer. He just peeled off everything around

It's not paint.. its a vinyl like material and it isn't permanent. No worries if you mess up since it is easily removable by peeling.. yet it is very durable I've had mine on for the last 2 years and its still good. Put painters tape around the reflector and just peel the painters tape off. The crease separation from the reflector and bumper acts as a perforation to detach itself.

If you look closely my buddy doesn't tape it perfectly.. not color matched but not bad either since I've got the grey and black theme going on with my X5.

Thank you dush and kzang for explaining that in detail. I'm still new to these mods so I really appreciate the help. Once I get some time this weekend to try it out and remove the side emblem, I will post pictures.

Anyone plasti-dip the reflectors black on a white F15? Or maybe it would just stand out too much on white.

I am thinking of painting them White Mineral when I move to MSport bumpers. Body shop can just paint freely w/o taping...hope real paint sticks though through the harsh winter.

It should be ok as long as they prep it properly, but I don't think most body shops will have any issues with pieces like that especially since it can be separated from the bumper for painting.
