Sticking brake pads?
When its raining or wet out my front brake pads stick when I'm stopped and let off the brakes. They pop when released. May pop worse the longer I'm holding brakes. This pop don't happen when it's dry out, or is barely noticeable. Seems to be more on driver side.
I took apart the front calipers. The oem pads still looked in great condition. I lubed all contact points and caliper bolts, but nothing changed. Today I was driving in freezing rain. Pulled into a drive thru, and when I released the pedal after being stopped, the popping sound was the loudest yet. Feels like the pad is stuck, then breaks loose. Any ideas? When you stop the brakes will load suspension and twist front suspension. When you release the brakes those stresses relax. Your noise may not be the breaks but is a worn or broken bushing, a worn ball joint, or even in the steering. Another step in checking this is to get someone in car on perfectly flat place. Have the driver allow car to creep and then brake to stop and place in neutral and do not open door so the auto Park apply engages. Now try to push the car to check for sticking brake. Repeating this same process while you close watch each front caliper though wheel spokes/holes might let you see the caliper jump. The caliper jumping then means either the suspension is shifting or the caliper bracket is loose from steering knuckle.
