Is coding needed for rear camera replacement?
Hi, the rear camera stopped working on my 2014 x5 and the iDrive screen shows "rear camera malfunction".
If I install a new rear camera, does it require coding for thr new camera to work? Or would it work immediately without any coding? Thanks |

You might also want to check the wiring. With my front one there was an internal break in the wire. I replaced the section and was all good. I did buy a used camera of eBay once I fixed the wire to test it. It was plug and play. No coding or calibration was necessary. I assume it would be similar for the rear one.
