I got updates from the stealer until production and then checked the VIN on bmwarchiv.de, once it appears there it is built.

Then the fun begins, @CatFlap may be more help as he made all the phone calls as our X5's shared a boat on the way over. There is no specific tracking available but by talking to agents and looking at schedules you can determine which K-Line boat it is on and track it all the way over the Atlantic and on it's grand tour of Europe (Zeebrugge, Bremerhaven) before landing at Southampton. Once landed at Southampton your dealer should have it within a week, according to the SLA's in place with the road shippers.

Thank you I will give it a try although from what I read its a bit random but some hope to cling onto, easier to track a £10 Royal Mail parcel than a £60k+ BMW

Heading to dealer to pick up my MY15 X5 M-Sport! Went into production Aug 1, finished Aug 10 and ready today. Can't wait!

Thanks man. The interior blows away my F10 and is leagues ahead of my old e70. Steering is a bit light, but I know I will easily get used to that.

The interior lighting detail is really cool at night, small but nice touch.

Also love the mocha Dakota and alum hex combo. I had only seen it with nappa and was afraid it wouldn't look as good...I almost think it looks better. Glad I didn't spend almost $4k extra in getting nappa (premium pkg, mocha design pkg, mc seats).

Just got the call last night... My imperial Blue x35d is at the dealer being prepped. Should be able to pick it up Friday. They are going to try and install the invisihitch before Friday... We shall see. Production was complete on the 11th. So a little less than 10 days from production completion to delivery is not bad... My only worry is that the 451 wheels made it on as they were not showing on the BMWUSA site as a selected option, but my rep assured me they are there.

Have you talked to someone at the 800# ? I would do it. My car had that status forever. Only after I spoke to a live person did I find out it had already been shipped out. It was shipped on 8/7, got to CA receiving point on 8/14. And I still don't have it !!! It's stuck somewhere and has not shipped to the dealer. This seems much slower than some of you guys on the forum who got their cars in record time. Not sure what the hold up is here in CA ?
Even today when I call 800# it still says the same status. Their system really is lagging behind on status. haha.
Let's hope you have better luck.

Yeah it doesn't help tracking your car at all. The system couldn't even recognize my production # until the car had finished production! Of course it doesn't know the car had been shipped either.

Do you mean; 302 Alarm system (Thatcham 1)?
Its standard in UK at least.

I have had a Tracker fitted to this and all previous BMWs...can recommend them for the product and service..nice web interface so you can plot journey's and use them for fuel expenses if car used on company business.

I am guessing it's probably very close to the time it takes to Cali. 2 weeks seem to be the safe estimate here.

Thanks, this helps. I suspect that I may have a couple of days transit from SoCal VPC to Portland.

This is a faster process than I anticipated - better get moving on selling my M3!!
