Someone on this forum will recognize the title and enlighten us. Patience, all will be revealed. Only SIB index I could find is 10 years old with no reference to this particular issue. Due to the backlog of work at my dealer my scheduled appointment is a couple of weeks away, don’t want to lose all of my coding, hence the question here.

As I understand it's a reflash/reprogram of a stock DDE software (Digital Diesel Electronics) or they may even just put a new DDE instead of old one (probably cheaper for them lol). In any case due to this SIB new software in DDE has changes related to EGR in your 35d (N57T). What exactly are these changes is unknown to me, but if i would guess it's emissions/efficiency oriented changes to make your 35d run cleaner/efficiently/longer?

P.S. Many diesel companies changed their software after dieselgate, tho this SIB may not be because of this

Turns out it’s DDE software for the EGR to more favorably deal with the fuel grades available in the US market. Once applied it should reduce soot particulate that could fill the high pressure EGR cooler to the point of significantly impacting performance and triggering a CEL with EGR control/Air mass faults being stored in the DDE.
Affected are vehicles with N57T (diesel) engines produced from 12/3/2013 - 11/25/2015.
