I would like to do this as well
So what was the total price for the conversion with parts and labor? Also, why was it a nightmare and why so many fabrications if it was a OEM swap?
I just love the M kit. vs all the others Pic Of My Vision (Similar). Awesome Shot (Not my pic)

I'll flip him a note now and ask. He said the biggest headache was going back and forth with the BMW dealership as they kept sending him the wrong stuff.

wow.. this looks awesome. i would love to do this mod.. but front and back
can you list all the parts used? also explain a bit more on the fabrication. if all oem parts were used, then why fabricate? or are some f85 parts not used and thus fabricated the f15 parts? thanks Last edited by daytonaviolet; 02-28-2018 at 08:47 PM.. |

thanks! I have the ACS exhaust and the rear diffuser in the back painted black, pretty happy with that setup considering the rear bumper mod would break my bank

I think this mystery will remain unsolved many more years. Maybe 20-30 years later our descendants will stumble upon a forgotten thread where that secret part list was posted |

My vote is they are too busy staring out the window at the refreshed ride in their driveway. That and they don't want anyone copying them...they want the only faux ///M on the block.
BTW if we get the list, I'm first in line to get rear-ended and pushed into another vehicle (so my front and back get ///M love on someone else's dime). No way I'd pay thousands to make mine more ///M-appearing.

Does the front camera need to recalibrate or code after you swap to the x5m front bumper? Cause the front camera on x5 mount higher than the x5m |

Okay peeps, here is the scoop. Not going to be exactly what you all wanted to hear but it was the best I could get out of Tony the owner. He said a parts list would have been tough as he went back and forth with Inskip BMW a LOT (news flash, they suck and insisted this was impossible). So I get it and I'm unfortunately not savvy enough to generate a parts list myself. From the conversation that we had, three main items needed to be modified.
First up, he said that he couldn't even get the bumper close to the car (like within 6 inches) before it bumped into the intercooler housing. He modified that housing first so that it could get the bumper to touch the fenders. He then tried to mount the F85 brackets (bumper to fender) and said they would not fit on the F15 fenders. So he modified the existing F15 brackets (bumper to fender) so that they would connect properly to the F85 bumper. The next piece was the splash shield underneath the car. The F15 shield was not large enough so he fabricated it to make it larger. He admits that he could have used the F85 splash shield but was sick of all the back and forth with BMW. So modified F15 brackets, a modified F15 splash shield, a modified F15 intercooler housing, and then all F85 front end parts. I hope this helps, I'm more than happy to ask more questions of Tony if anyone has intentions of seriously attempting this. |

I think another question was which was it a 35i/d or 50i. I don't know if the intercooler is located in the same location so that might help with some of the extra fab work. I wanted to do this conversion also but decided to not want to have to deal with the extra work. I've seen one done locally and it was done nicely, he kept the rear m sport and just added the cf m sport stuff.
