Looking to get a 35i/50i are they reliable?
Are they good beaters? I do a love of driving for work and I'm wondering if they're reliable or not.
Thanks!

50i is another story - you don't need that power for a beater car lol |

I can tell you though: If you get a 50i make sure you get DHP, otherwise your engine will outrun your suspension. i had a 3 series before and i can tell you, this thing is built so much better than the 3 series, everything is a lot more reinforced and well put together. the x5 50i with DHP manages weight so well i barely notice its 1.2 tonnes heavier because of the steel armor plates and thicker windows. Same suspension setup, brakes and engine from a normal X5. |

May we ask why you "need" a Security model?!

We have a '16 35i and live 2 miles up a rutted, washboard poorly maintained SW Virginia dirt road. I wouldn't call our F15 a beater but it's certainly not babied either. After 2 years and approx. 30,000 miles we've had no problems at all, no rattles or electronic issues. Great car!
