Does it need the spacers

Does it need the spacers when lowering it? Does upgrading the wheel size from 19 to 21s make you need the spacers?

Spacer is an icing on top.
20" and 21" looks better when dropped with the spacer.

One more question. How's the ride compared to the H&R springs. Had them on my e60. Just trying to compare to get ready for my Spring/Summer Build

Are we comparing Eibach and H&R here?

H&R gives you the most drop, ride quality is not as friendly as the Eibach or AC Schnitzer. Some likes it, some don't.

Eibach or AC Schnitzer gives less drop, but I haven't heard any single complaint on the ride quality. Just complaint that it is not low enough,

Thanks again. I guess I'll have to choose when I get my wheels.

I guess spring change is a half measure? Isn't it better to go with KW coilovers to be able to not only adjust ride height, but also adjust how firm you like your ride. IMHO half of those who change springs are doing it to get less body roll. I mean they are not doing it just so their car can look lowered. Just a reminder for those folks, maybe it's better to spent more and get it done properly, rather then do just springs and then have regrets and spent more money for coilovers

I disagree, coils can often times introduce noise and complication, while also being way more costly. In my situation, if I want to drive a sports car I hop in my m3 or even my wife's macan gts.

My goal in lowering is to maybe get a 20 percent stiffness increase while maintaining a modest drop. I'm hoping the eibach will be the answer

Both are progressive spring. So every inch may have different weight rating.

Yeah, in that case Eibach is perfect imho

How's the ride with the eibach springs?
I got h&r springs on my x5 msport and I'm not happy at all.i
I feel like I'm on a boat compared to the stock ones(was a lot happier) with the stock ones.the car is all over the place, not enjoyable to drive like this.no control at all.love the hight.but will replacing them or going back to stock.
I can't believe people say good things about h&r
Worst experience I ever had with suspension

Hmm Ive never heard anyone say nice things about them. Most searches here produce a lot of discontent toward the H&R springs and then they switch to eibach or go full KW. When did you get yours?

When I had my E36 I ran H&R Race springs with stock struts/shocks and it was terrible. It wasn't until I added Bilstein sports that the ride much improved. Due to the more extreme drop with the H&R springs, I think you need to pair them up with matching struts/shocks. You're less likely to notice any issues with the Eibach's since they are a much milder drop and KWs of course are already matched.

Stiffer springs and stock shocks/struts? That may be the problem.

How does the ride feel? Did you switch from standard stock or do you have air? I'm seriously considering changing the springs on my standard stock suspension just a bit afraid i'll loose the ride.

Thanks.

With Eibach, you will gain better ride than loosing ride quality.
I have sold lots of H&R, ACS, Eibach, and KW coulovers setup. I even installed them and drove on them.
Hands down, KW is the best, Eibach/ACS is next, and H&R is last on the list (unless if you can suck it up and all care about is the looks).
I did use H&R on my standard suspension, that's because I have no choice and I don't want to be shy on the drop, so ACS was out of the question and Eibach wasn't even released in the US yet.
Thanks to KW to release the V3 when I only have less then a year left in my lease.
But, I would run KW whenever it is available for street setup.
I will avoid other Taiwanese or Chinese brand coilover for sure.
Told my friends not to do it, and they went to other shop who is willing to do it, and they bitch and moan by my ear.

Mine doesn't have air suspension, but it rides like stock. Feels tighter on turns, but so far I'm loving it.

Great! Can't wait to have them done on mine. I'll probably switch out the tires as well. Going from run flats to regular really good all season tires. I do have the spare option in the car.
