Air vent add-on, yea or nay

I have a black X5 with no chrome (night package I think)
Recently replaced front kidney to the double slot glossy to remove the chrome look... I love the way it looks but now torn on the air vent add on... I would get one that's all black, just want to see what you guys think about them? Purely cosmetic, you like them or hate them?

All black, no writing on them

If you are talking about the side air curtains then nope. I think it's an eye sore. If I had a X5M, I'd also remove it. It just looks cleaner with minimal accessories and add on.

Yes this is what I'm talking about. I saw a X5M with it, love the look but doesn't like the chrome on it. It just felt like something is missing without it.

They are purely cosmetic.

I wouldn't. Even the fender air cut duct looks small and out of place imo since it doesn't follow any body lines

It is personal preference.
I have sold quite a few of them for non X5M guys.

I wouldn't do it though, because on the F85 X5M there will be holes on the fender since they plastic weld the fender trim to the fender.

Not a fan either, looks like an afterthought. If it were more integrated like on the f80 M3, I think it would look good

Right.. on the X5M I guess I would reluctantly leave it on and yes, its a personal preference.

Nay

Not cool. I just took mine off, and suddenly fall in love with my side panel again!

I am not a fan, but if you like it I think you should go for it and not let other people tell you what you should and shouldn't like.

I don't mind them if they are on an M-Sport and if they are the OEM type (there are some hideous aftermarket side vent inserts out there on Ebay). If you do install side vent inserts, then de-badging is a must!!!

I have noticed that the X5 looks longer (from front bumper to rear bumper) without the side vent inserts than it does with the side vent inserts.
