Is it the picture, or is the fit not perfect?

It's not OEM, but good enough for me.

Looks quite good, I'm pondering these for my X. I tend to favor the non-painted look however for your setup with the M front bumper painted is a better look.

Looks good, thanks for posting the pics. I've had 2 Alpine White e30's over the years with body kits (Schnitzer on my last 1990 325iS) and white always shows every line.

I've ordered these flares for my truck too and will post pics once painted (black sapphire) and installed.

Looks good and leaving them unpainted works well with the trim on your truck. I ordered these same ones from these guys too (KITT) off ebay and they arrived yesterday (took about 10 days to Toronto). I will have mine painted and then installed.

Did you install them yourself or have a shop do it? How do you find the fit all around, especially at the rear door? Is there anything or cautions I need to be aware of before installing?

Thanks, I did install mine myself pretty straightforward install, I used different river for the flares the expanding type instead of the OEM push type, which is easier and reusable instead one time use like the original,if you ever need to take them off for any reason, there a link and part number in the review for them.

I had my KITT (carpartstuning.com/ebay) fender flares painted and installed and I'm pretty happy with the outcome, considering it's not OEM and I saved myself ~ $900 CAD doing so. I had my shop paint the front reflectors too since they were working in the area...it made a noticeable difference on the front end.

The front fenders are a perfect fit. The rear ones are very good but one section sticks out slightly under the door (like 1-2mm). It's not really noticeable at all, unless you're up close and looking for it...or if we're focusing on a pic taken on a bright sunny day lol. The pic actually makes it look worse than it is in person, I almost didn't want to post it but figured it's better to do an honest review.

Really though, I'm pretty OCD when it comes to my cars and I'm totally stoked on how it turned out...would recommend and do it again.

I will post some better pics/angles once I get some summer wheels installed.

That's actually quite good for non-OEM. Could you sand down the inside of the rear flare to get it flush? I'm just wondering if there is some excess material causing it to push out a bit.

Thanks for the feedback, I'm glad to hear that it's good for non-OEM.

I don't believe sanding the inside of that section will make any difference. What I believe is causing the issue is that there's a rivet located just past the door, somewhere at the TDC of the fender, so riveting that section pushes the fender into it's grooved spot but the section that sticks out has no rivet above it and you can actually push that section in with your thumb. So, I guess the mold is the real issue, and the rivet location just highlights the imperfection. It's really a non-issue though.

Next...need some 22" love and lowering sexiness.

I actually have the exact same experience. Here's a picture of mine. As you can see, i also have that small gap. It is not excess material but rather like it is missing a clip (but it is not). If you push it in, it is almost completely flush. I had mine installed by the guy who did the painting and i plan to take the rear ones out and try to put them back myself. I have to admit, the guy who installed them was pretty surprised that they are not OEM because of how easy they fit.
P.S. Please ignore the 18" wheels, its winter out here.

I honestly don't believe removing and re-installing it will make any difference because the issue is in the mold. It's not even noticeable bud, I would just leave it imo.

Word. I've seen OEM parts fit poorly.

What 22s and lowering are you planning on?

I am considering a few multi-spoke (15-20 spoke) options; Breyton Race LS (first choice), Hamman Anniversary Evo (gonna be expensive af), or Vossen VFS-2.

For lowering, I want Eibach but the problem with them is they lower 0.6" rear and 1" front and I'm worried that my truck will be higher in the back...I hate that look.

I may have to go H&R which are 1.5" all around, but that's a pretty big drop and the ride will be more bouncy.

I think my best bet is to get the rims first and then decide from there.

I just checked and I also have that small gap - and I have OEM fender flares. So I think mold is accurate - that's how oem has it

P.S. Those 18 inch rims look surprisingly ok-ish! I thought 18'' looks way too small on x5 (where even some 20 inch rims often look small), but that rim design makes it look descent enough

Thank you kind sir. I have to admit that for winter driving, those 18" wheels feel very nice especially without run-flats. Looking forward to trying the 19" summer setup with some spacers.

I have painted eBay flares too. They work great and a huge looks improvement. For plastic well inserts I don’t think oem matters.

I have been researching the same, can't find out any definitive information. I know that Hamann makes a set of flares for the F16 like these but they were crazy money.

no, x5 and x6 fender flares are different. Different part # and they are physically different (different shape)
