We are going to paint door handles in the next few days. I can't promise we will have stock for every single BMW color code at all times so those of you who are still on the fence about this retrofit it's the right moment to make up your mind...

I am on the fence about it. I am very likely order this but before i do so, i will look for some reviews and testimonials. The whole thing looks a bit complicated.

Sounds good
Installation is easier than a rear view camera especially if you do just the front doors.
The product will be available on our website in March. Retail price will be higher than the group buy but still very reasonable.

I'm thinking: if you don't have keyless start, wouldn't you need new keys for comfort access?

Any update on this? How many people are in for the group buy? I'm still on the fence but very likely to pull the trigger.

correct. Comfort Access' keyless start feature requires a Comfort Access compatible key. This key itself is at least $200-$300 alone from BMW and requires further programming. On the programming side, not 100% sure how that will play nicely with this service offered here.

With that and my general understanding of what's going on, I'm guessing keyless start can't be retrofitted properly. To get a key from BMW, you need to call in your VIN so they can cut your key pattern. Alternatively, I can see how this feature can still be retrofitted if you're okay with a blank key.

Ultimately, vendor has to chime in on keyless start. It's a pretty big part of comfort access IMO.

I thought that all F15 have keyless start. Is that not the case?

I would like pricing shipped to Bahrain.

Is there a group buy for the F15/16 crowd? and will there a DIY video for us? I just watched the whole video for F30, there must be differences in installation!

I am interested in the group buy too! We just traded in our 2014 x3 that had it and didn't realize our x5 didn't til we got home 😳 It's a great feature, I don't think my wife's keys ever left her purse on the old car.
