Any F15 X5 owners considering a move to G01 X3?

Hi

I'm at a point where I have an option to move my X5 on. Another X5 as a replacement feels like it might be a bit boring and there is a new one coming soon...

Didn't look at the X3 when I purchased the X5. as it was a generation beind and a bit too small. I believe the G01 is now bigger and of course a step ahead of the F15 platform and tech wise.

I guess the other option is to wait out the X5 replacement, can't really hold off for more than a year though

Anybody else considering the G01 X3 instead of the X5?

Isn't new x5 generation coming next year? I think G01 X3 is still going to be smaller than f15, but I see your point

Hello, I wanted to start a thread like this few weeks ago (before my vacation). I am considering an X3. Current value of my current X5 will probably drop signifficantly when the new model is kind of out. So making the switch earlier would be better cost wise.

My main concerns with the X3 are:

a) no comfort seats, I take a few very long journeys across Europe and comfort seats are just so good. Owned an F15 with sport seats also and can say that comfort seats are way better.

b) beta testing (so called). Had some issues with my first 2014 X5 (all issues were resolved by the dealer, but it took 6 months, waiting for the software update, was annoying though).

c) it is a smaller car (less important) and does not feel as luxurious in some areas

Cheers!

Thanks for the input guys. Agreed on the seats, for me it is also a significant issue that comfort seats aren't available on the X3. Much prefer comfort over sport generally.

One option I was worried I'd miss is the aux parking heater but it seems it's now available as an option on the X3. I don't think it was before so that's some good news!

I need to check the suspension options too. I bet there isn't any air suspension available, I find the rear levelling very useful as well as the improved comfort.

Does anybody know of a pictorial wire frame size comparison of the F15 over G01?

I've just gone through exactly the same dilemma. I've ordered a new X5 (m50d) in the end , delivery is next week. New X3 is nice but F15 is still in my mind much nicer and a lot more space. New G model X5 is not yet announced and I wouldn't buy when just released as deals are terrible. I also got a great discount on the F15.
I'll get the G version in mid 2019 or 2020.

I'm hoping for the X5M on the next go around or the M50d if they ever have the balls to sell it in the states. It would go like crazy!

Just drove in a new 540i with nappa comfort seats. BMW took comfort seats to another level by making those headrests way better than in the F15.

Same. I thought the Cayenne was similarly-sized to the X5 until I parked next to one. The X5 is massive!

X3 or Macan will be the next one for me. I need something smaller now that I'm living in an urban area.

I wouldn't downsize. I might consider the new 5 series though. Got a 530 loaner quite liked it, though I'd of course get the 550.

M sport leather seats

Photos are I believe made brighter as the leather is actually black, blue stitching all over (incl. dash).
