Those caliper covers are extremely heterosexual, no insult intended.

I honestly think you're missing the point - sexual orientation & preference are not necessarily mentioned by "gay"...

Is English not your first language? I only ask because your posts sometimes show signs of this...and perhaps that is making you miss that gay doesn't always mean gay in the sexual term. All good mate, just trying to help you see it.

No different than "you're a joke" and "I'm telling a joke"...one is funny, one is an insult. Or "take the piss out of me" and "I have to piss"...one is urine, the other was the wind in my sails.

Many nuances like this, especially with older terms and today's PC madness and hypersensitivity for anything that could be offensive to anyone.

Like Howard Stern says, peace and love, peace and love.

F@g was very similar, along with the normal British uses of the word (he spent his days fagging away at the factory / it's such a f@g to drive that far).

I grew up in a very liberal area, with very accepting friends and neighbors. Never was anyone anti-anything, especially for sexual preferences...and that was a long time ago, so you can probably guess what coast I was on.

Needless to say, we said gay and f@g all the time, was totally a friendly jesting thing, from childhood to adulthood, all of us, straight, gay, bi, whatever...because one had nothing to do with the other.

As long as someone isn't being hateful to anyone I have no problem with using any language, old school terms, etc. I have more of a problem with the ease of people being offended. No one can offend anyone without their permission. Being offended is a decision the offended person makes. I can decide to be offended by someone calling me a cracker, honkey, redneck, hillbilly, etc., or I can laugh. Sex, race, orientation, etc. are all facts...so they can only be offensive in an overly-PC world.

Love everyone, hate no one, choose happiness and a lack of living offended. I promise you'll live a better and more pleasant life, and so will everyone you love. That's what we teach our five kids. We keep it real for them, no censorship allowed, so they have no shocks in the real world, can deal with criticism, rejection, and disappointment...because that's far more important than knowing how to deal with a participation trophy.

BTW the forum censors the word F@G...funny since it is really a word (noun and verb).
I have to disagree with you, gay in those terms is was anti gay people, so it has its roots in hate... but as it evolved it took on a meaning of “dumb” but if you are gay. I can how it would be offensive but if you really go back gay meant happy... and if these brake covers make the op happy then gay it is...

*** in the uk I thought meant a cigarette?

But back on topic, I would not be caught dead with these on my car, suv, lawn mower..l etc... but your money, your life

Let's put it this way: if not recognizing the reason for being called gay for a car mod and get offended by the use of it in this context, you can call me illiterate.

Sorry but it looks pretty bad. Too much blue with black rims and shape of the cover is too flat looking. It would've been better if cover was slightly more ornate, or M logo with proper color and white rivets. It has to be one of the ugliest mod I've ever seen.

I think freedom of speech is tell people what you like and why or tell people what you dont like and why. No name calling. Everybody live happily together like a family.

Am glad this thread attracted so many folks here... Am not glad it has been reduced to comical, off topic, comments.
Maybe I should ask the moderators to move it to general discussion threads:" the sexuality of car mods, extrapolate your mods into revealing your sexual world"

Yes, have a mod move this to GD. That should be entertaining.

Between this thread and your stubbornness in thinking you have a “M-Tech” X5, can’t help but to think you are just here to troll.

Oh, I am not offended being called one. I just don't like it being used in a car mod thread, that's all.
Same thing as black /white, short/tall etc
