This is where the debate can go on and on....the tires.
This is my understanding: 20" rims come with summer performance tires. If you get these, you will more than likely want to get winter tires, because they do not handle well in the winter. I currently drive a suv with 20" performance tires, and it is terrible in the winter. I am guessing your winters are worse in Vermont. 19" are all year tires, and there should be no need to swap out tires in the winter. I have heard from others that the ride may be a little smoother in the 19's, but these are all opinions. |

If I go 20's, against better judgment I think I may just keep them on in the winter and only change the tire to a winter set up.
I know people say to go down to 19 0r 18 wheel and tires in the winter but I have a hard time having the look of 20's for 7 months and then "settling" for 5 months with the smaller rims. If I get the 19 inch wheels on the X5 I still may get winter tires as the all seasons aren't enough for VT winters. They are really 3 season tires. |

I would not mount/dismount the rubber on the same rims ever time. Just buy another set of 20's. in the long run it will cost the same.

Regarding pics, I have seen some pics on cars.com of Lux models with the 20's. If you filter for 2014 x5's with pics, you'll see some. Think I saw some white ones with the lux, maybe some black ones too. |

Does anyone know the difference in cost of swapping tires on the same rim vs swapping out an entire wheel/tire set?
I will lease it for 3 years, so twice a year x 3 years = 6 swaps Thanks!! |

So maybe roughly 150$ for tire swap plus the 1-2 hours you have to wait.
