How many bolts are there? Are they all the same size? Can you tell us which one it is? Can you take another one out so you have the thread size & length, head type, etc.?
This should be easily solved, like you said, at ACE or somewhere...shouldn't be a hard thread to match.

For example this one: https://www.turnermotorsport.com/p-1...uine-bmw-part/ Which one exactly you lost - from the diagram? P.S. In any case - intake bolts are nothing special - there is no extra strength or tensile requirements. Even if you use similar one from ACE or whatever - it will do just fine. But trust me they are all available for sale. |

I assume you're referring to the screws that hold down the air box lid. Number 3 in the picture.
I too have lost one of mine. Well it fell down while changing filters and never seen again. Maybe it's still there some where rattling around. Haven't found a solution myself. Maybe go to your parts dept and ask them what they would do if you brought you're vehicle there and they lost one whole servicing it. There's always a solution. Meanwhile I've just not used it. However this did lead to the box opening up I found when I went to change my spark plugs last night. Wasn't happy to see that

DuSh, just looked back at his thread and the Dinan flow was 571, stock X5M 451.
Got the Dinan for steal anyway so I'm happy with it...now just have to figure out which tune to go with and maybe down pipes, exhaust...etc. Dan |

Junkyard....even late model, someone has one. May cost more than what you want to spend though.
You could always retap the hole to fit a slightly larger bolt thread that you can obtain.

Ya it is plastic. I am curious about screw #4 in the above picture. That can still be attained. Just can't tell where it goes in the picture.
You're also probably the only 50i with the Dinan intake. I pushed them hard to simply say it would work for both but they kept whining that the clearance under the hood is less on the 50i and that over time it would supposedly make contact with the CF top and mare it up. I figured even if true then I would just get some window seal foam and stick it on the bottom side of the hood. Lol

Mav, it's tight and i think it touches the pad on the hood, i figured i would just put some tape on the lid where it touches.
I thought the bolts were metal when i had them out, will have to recheck that. Junkyard also a good idea, thanks ! |

Found the new part number for the screw that holds down the airbox. 13718626736
$2.60 on get BMW parts .com Idk how but here you go! I will be taking this myself to my dealer and try and pick one up. I used realoem.com to see if they had a new PN and they did have a different one and a different diagram. When I use their PN it actually brings up a slightly different diagram on getbmwparts and it shows they have it.

No problem. Weird that they don't list it as a replacement part number on realoem. Oh well at least we found it
