Best way to get refund on broken OEM Remote Start retrofit
I had my car retrofited with the factory remote start system for $1500 back in 2016 at the dealer. This is the factory option.
I remember I brought my car into service and they an iDrive update, then the remote start stopped working. Then they stopping offering the iDrive update to people with remote start and I guess they stopped offering the remote start retrofit because it's incompatible with current iDrive software. Anyways it's over a year now, the system does not work. I requested a refund from the dealer and the service manager says he submitted a request to BMW. The service manager is pretty straightforward guy so I don't think he's BS'ing me or anything when he said BMW has pretty much been ignoring this. I asked if they could downgrade my software or replace the iDrive with one that has older software... I'm told that's not possible. I'm now wondering what my options are? I cannot used a system I paid for and BMW does not have a solution.
