oh no...he's got a X5M 3.5i...
You should get a turbo badge while at it, it should compliment M very well. |

I think BMW made a marketing mistake in mixing up the real M car with the M Sport package that is offered in some models like the X5. I have a 2014 X5 M Sport and had several times when asked by friends to explain it is not the M version but the M Sport version. I know it is official from BMW but for people that are not aware it feels like I could not afford a real M and kind of "made it up" to get a "fake" M car. They should have created logos for M Sport so there is no confusion. In my opinion it is bad to add M badges if your car is not a real M but on the other hand BMW added lots of M badges in my M Sport car (wheels, steering wheel, door sills, etc...) so they are the ones that made a mess with their own brand.

You are free to go out of your way to put M badges on your car. I am free to judge you for doing so.

I agree with BMWMN1971. I was against the whole M-Sport thing, Audi's S-Line, etc from the beginning. Starting with my 335, I finally came around to the simple fact that the M-Sport package got me things I wanted (sport seats, sport auto (in the F15), etc) and looked better (not a fan of the F30 without M sport). So I gave in and now prefer it. BUT, I have no desire to load my non ///M car with ///M badges. I would be fine without the few that are already there, mostly inside the car (other than the tiny ones on the wheels). That said, people having been throwing those badges on non-///M cars for years, well before the 'M-Sport' thing came around. I like that even less, but it's your car, your money, do what you want. Just as some of us will do, poking fun…. |

European M50d has the badges, but that car has actually been developed by M-division (engine+chassis), so its a different thing...IMO But I guess someone disagrees with that too. |

The only time you should be buying new M badges is when some poser with a non M steals your badges off your real M to make people think his car is faster then it really is! IMO

Why would you get X5M badges if it's not an x5M?

Not haters, we are just messing with you. That's what we do. I was going to suggest you buy an X5M and transfer the badge until I realized you were upset....
